    Hisense 50K360G

I am working on a Hisense 50" LED. Backlight comes on but no picture or sound. Upon pressing the power on the unit blinks 7 times pauses then blinks 3 times before energizing the backlight.
I have done some troubleshooting on the PS board. All voltages there seem to be right. What is puzzling me is that when I disconnect the ribbon cable from the right side of the TCON board the left side half of the screen comes on and I can see the word video at the bottom. Also as I press the imput or menu button nothing happens.

    Thanks in advance

Pictures of the whole back side of the TV to show all the boards?
If you can disconnect one of the cables between the T-CON and the LCD panel ans then you can see the picture on half of the screen, that means you have bad panel problem.

Ok check the surface mount caps. Ok but the address boards? do you mean the main board?

            Thanks.

I believe he is referring to those two boards where the two flay ribbon cable with silver tapes on them, you can see one board on the right, the left one is hard to see. Both boards are on the rim of the panel, they do have some SMD caps on them, but you need to take the panel apart to see the whole board. It can be shorted caps or shorted TFT driver ICs which on the the flexible PCB which you cannot see until you take the panel apart.

Thanks I did start to take the one on the right apart to investigate. but wasn't sure how far to go. I will take it out today and check. Do you think I need to check both or just the one on the half that isn't working?

Also it appaers that the ribbons that go to the panel are soldered to that board and not removable. I assume they connect to the panel underneath somehow.

                    Re: Hisense 50K360G

Also if you notice the small IC on the lower right corner of the tcon....This chip was blown on the previous board so I replaced that board. Maybe the address board in question does have a bad component which is why the IC burnt to begin with.

Do you think maybe the chip went bad because of a problem with the main board?

                          Re: Hisense 50K360G

Replaced the tcon and measured 12.68 vdc at the input to the board. Still only have half a picture with the right side ribbon removed. Also nothing happens when the menu, input, channel or sound buttons are pressed. The only button that does anything is the on off button. So I'm thinking the problem may be the main board. Although I'd really like to see a schematic for the board as I would be able to follow the current path. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.

                          Thanks

I will say this , if you put BOTH cables back in and leave the TV on long enough you will probably burn out your new T-CON board.
No functions of some of the button is not related to having only half of the screen working.

Right, which is why I haven't done that. I have ordered a new main so we'll see how that works.

I had this model Hisense, and the LCD screen was bad. I would do an screen inspection by removing the TV front bezel and then all four metal brackets around the LCD screen. check for small cracks and burn marks

I have one of these which won't power on, no turn on signal from the main, but even if I manually turn on the PSU, I still don't get backlights. PFC comes on, 380+ volts, and I get 144v to each pair of LED outputs, but no backlights.

dbier63, would you be able to tell me what voltage you get to your LEDs? Thanks.

Also I will measure those voltages to the LEDs and post tomorrow.
