    Samsung LN32A300J1D Whitescreen

    Samsung Model: LN32A300J1D
    Model Code: LN32A300J1DXZA
T-Con Board: M$35-D013932-L$CTR833202419 Bar Code with AS15-G IC

Not a technician just trying to learn to fix my TV. Any help appreciated. TV powers on normally and has good sound, but the display is white with a very dim hard to see image in the background. I have searched the forum for this model TV and it seems like the place to start is to clean and reset the ribbon cables, which I have done and no change. Next I have checked the voltages on the T-Con with these results.
    GW1: 4.41, GW2: 10.06, GW3: 9.65, GW4: 9.04, GW5: 8.60, GW6: 7.56, GW7: 7.14, GW8: 7.09, GW9: 10.29, GW10: 5.44, GW11: 4.56, GW12: 3.58, GW13: 2.99, GW14: 0.00, VCM: 13.51. Do these look within tolerance?

The AS15-G IC is very hot to touch. Is there more test points I should check? Is more information or pictures needed? Thanks

T-CON Board defective. You can get this exact replacement from ShopJimmy (SJ). They are reasonably priced and they have friendly assistants to answer any questions you may have. I purchased this very part from them not too long ago and it worked on first go and is still working about 3-4 months ago. Great place to shop... Cheers

Thanks. I was afraid that was the problem but was hoping for the best. Will see about finding a replacement or having the IC replaced locally.

You can purchase the AS15's for a few dollars on ebay. You will likely need someone with a hot air rework station to change them though.

It would be quite rewarding to replace the AS15 IC and get this set working again. However if you don't have the skill or tools to do an operation like this then just get anew T-CON board from SJ.....Thanks

Thanks for the advice. I am trying to get my nerve up to tackle replacing the chip. Good excuse to get a hot air station!

Make sure you practice on some scrap boards first. There are some good tutorial videos on YouTube like https://www.youtube.com/user/SolderingGeek

Thanks Bluecatfish and everyone who commented. I had the same problem, and I just now ordered the replacement T-Con board. Since i'm starting out, I figured working on a hot air station would be too much.

P.S. Congrats on keeping the peace.

Also essential is a microscope to get the image big enough to snap a pix
that will clearly show the IC legs attached properly to each trace on the board.
That will avoid re-does .And be advised that an AS-15 and AS-19 are not subbed
either way. Buy both in quantity from China for a buck apiece !
