Panasonic TC-P50S30 big white spot and darkened image

The title says it all... no blinking, it powers up but big white spot and i can hardly see an image in the background.

Can you supply a photo of this "spot" so we can judge what it might be?

My guess would be Y(Z) Sustain or whatever Panasonic calls it.

Where did you get the replacement board from ?

SC board fault.
Make sure you get the 30-series S/U line (i.e. U30 or S30) board... the V30/VT30 is not compatible as panel tech is different.

All i can find are repair kits, do you think that would solve my issue? Normally those repair kits are for other kind of problems, like shorted SC board...

Have you tried e-bay? I am sure I saw the boards for this set there. My experience with boards off e-bay has been 100% successful, thus far...Give it a look.
