Re: philips 42PFL3007/12 CHASSIS MTP9.1E LA

    Symptom

    SW Overview for TPM9.1ELA Chassis.
    Cure

    DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
    1) Open the attached "#SW_Overview_chassis_version.xls" file
    2) Select (via the filters) the CTN and display combination you are looking for.
    3) In the selected row, you'll find all software available for that model.
    4) Click on the latest software hyperlink and save the file on your computer.

For more detailed instructioins, read attached "#User_instructions_SW_overview_version.pdf" file.

    IMPORTANT:
    - Always write down the original SW version before proceeding the SW upgrade. This will be helpful, if wrong SW is flashed, or when the set is 'dead' after upgrade.
    - Always use the latest software version. Only use old(er) software versions if explicitly indicated.
    - When using ComPair, be sure to use the latest version of ComPair (downloadable from Philips Service website).

Notice to users of XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76 programmers regarding BIOS backup file size
        by m1ch43lzm
        Hi everyone
I noticed on the Xgpro software the BIOS backup files have extra bytes at the end when reading some chips, this is because the Xgpro software also reads the OTP region of those flash chips, and by default will append that region to the saved file
        Programmer models: XGecu TL866II Plus / T48 / T56 / T76

Example: GD25LQ128D (1.8V), IC size is listed as 0x1000000 Bytes (16777216 bytes) + 0xC00 bytes, those extra 0xC00 bytes will be appended to the end of the saved file by default, resulting in a file size of 16780288 bytes
There's also an extra OTP Secu.R...

This is my first post on this forum, and my first attempted repair of a modern flat-screen LCD-TV (though I have repaired a few LCD-monitors, all with Elco-problems (high ESR). I have repaired my fair share of TV-sets and VCRs in the past ('90s) and was fairly familiar with the different Philips chassis (KT-3M, K12, K2, K3, K7 are some that come to mind). So I have a fair bit of experience on old sets. Obviously, modern TV sets are quite a different cup of tea.... no HOT or flyback-transformer inside, for starters....

The set came into my possession by accident,...
