Hi all got a strange one, a previous customer of mine whom takes good care of his possessions, brought a slim line samsung plasma tv around 1 year ago they said its been great-picture as well as sound- then last night they were watching and he said that "loud bang and the tv went off and a huge crack formed on the inner glass/screen now it wont turn on at all, is there any thing that can be done Reece as its just out of warranty ?". What could of happened its not wall mounted and he said that he didn't knock it or even move it, strange or what ?

Re: Randomly cracking Pdp's ???
Im thinking that the frame could have been sent out with a defect or uneven bow in it when the pdp glass was installed or it got bowed which put pressure on the glass that when heated after use got fragile and caused a micro fracture then just fully spread down the screen. I doubt that the customer would have done it by a genuine accident but you never know. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: Randomly cracking Pdp's ???
Customers make up all sorts of stuff and leave important information out, such as the possibility that just before the loud bang the TV was knocked off of whatever it was setting on.Comment

Re: Randomly cracking Pdp's ???
Definitely. It's a known issue with Samsung plasma sets.
Samsung won't admit it, but the D series, and some of the E series, are VERY well known to spontaneously crack. It appears to be a thermal thing, as the glass gets hot it can crack.
If you complain, they'll fob you off. If you complain loud enough they'll replace the panel or TV. It's a shame, because I quite like the pic quality of some of the lower-end D-series TVs. And the 51" set (PS51D450) isn't too badly put together. Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Randomly cracking Pdp's ???
Thanks for that Tom and guess what it is ps43d450 d series thanks for confirming that it seemed too odd for the guy to make up a lie that it randomly cracked while being on for a few hours. So guess another shoddy design from samsung is the real issue, such a shame. Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: Randomly cracking Pdp's ???
So just went to see a PS43E450A1W, woman said no picture thought Y-main/PSU/control etc.
Nope, cracked panel, tiny spiderweb, not impact as outer glass undamaged. Flashed brief faint Samsung logo with many jumbled lines, then shut down, so panel still holds gas surprisingly, but there are electrode shorts causing problems with buffer board / Vscan.
Very common issue - definitely look out for it when you buy one of these sets with no picture.Last edited by tom66; 10-15-2015, 01:13 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Randomly cracking Pdp's ???
Yes as suspect E450 is affected just like the one I had which was a D series but E uses same panels if my research is correct.Last edited by ReeceyBurger123; 10-15-2015, 01:15 PM.Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. by pcwhiz24This issue has me stumped! I have this Lenovo IdeaPad and the SSD (NVME) keeps on randomly disconnecting. It'll stop being detected in BIOS randomly and when I turn it off and back on sometimes it'll detect again and boot up just fine...only to crash after a few minutes and either boot again or stop being detected.
Things I tried so far:
- Reset the CMOS by removing battery, held power buttons 60 seconds, all that jazz.
- BIOS is fully updated (had to use CHA341 because I bricked it the first time trying to update it)
- Tried multiple working NVME drives... -
This is my first attempt at troubleshooting a board like this, I know I could just buy a new board but I'm curious to figure out how this works. I've been testing different components in the evenings this week and I think the problem is with the IC failing to start up for some reason. When the board is plugged in there is no standby voltage.
Then today it randomly sprung to life like a zombie but shortly died thereafter. I have no idea why it would have done that and its the first time I've seen it running. I discharged capacitors on the board last night, then it was sitting today.... -

by ktmmotocrossHello.
Have this A1398 emc 2876 that randomly goes to black screen and raising fan. I know this was problem of gpu or gpu voltage controller, but this one is without gpu.
Is there some known failure points on them or i just count on cold solder under cpu? - Loading...
