    Samsung PN59D6500 with No Video/Power

Good afternoon everyone. While away on a business trip my Samsung PN59D6500 decided to die, I took it apart and checked all the boards, and have been unable to find any bad caps or anything else obvious. Here is what I discovered so far:
    1) My wife called me when it failed. Basically while it was on it made a loud ferocious fart sound (As she described it) and suddenly turned off.

    2) Pressing the power button physically or via the remote does zip, the power led does a quick flash but there is no video and the TV doesn't go through its normal power on sequence.

    3) When the TV is power cycled, the power LED will flash 6 times then return to the mode I described above.

    4) The LED diag on the logic board is blinking everything 6 seconds instead of the normal 1 second.

Tom's excellent fast track has helped greatly, and another video on Youtube helped me “possibly” track down the issue to either Y Buffer, Y Main, X Main, or X Buffer based on how the LED is flashing on the logic board but I don't have a multi-meter on-hand and can't do any proper troubleshooting. What are everyone's thoughts on this issue? Should I go ahead replace the boards I mentioned above or is the issue possibly with Logic and Main? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

You'll Have to do some proper testing or you'll just end up wasting money!
--Considering some of the boards you mention can be $50 or more--and that fault could be on any board you mention--It'll get expensive in a Huge hurry if you just randomly replace this and that, with no proper methodical fault-finding!

As most vendors Don't Test--No Matter WHAT they say-- fitting a duff board could kill an otherwise OK board in the set!--Then it gets Fun, you go round in circles and gets quickly Uneconomical to boot!

ONLY way is by Proper Testing First.

What is rather worrying is description of when fault occured--Loud farting--maybe a buzzing before shut-down. 'D' series Samsung are known for bad plasma panels, they develop tiny cracks near edges, lets air in, set goes Buzz due to panel down to air....

--IF this has happened, Set is toast.

Yeah before reading Alastairs post seeing the "farting noise" made me think the panel has just died.

Powering the set afterwards can short the boards giving the fault you now see with the blink code
