    Philips 32PFL3403D/F7 no power

    Hello.

I was given a 32PFL3404D/F7 set with no power, no standby LED,etc...completely dead. i measured voltages out of the PS and the only voltage I have is 5V. (measurements with main board disconnected). My question is the stdby voltage which measured 0 with the MB disconnected. Does the power supply generate the stdby voltage on its own, or does the PS feed the 5V to the main board, which in turn sends the STDBY voltage back to the PS? I wasnt quite sure how the standby works...also..will all the other voltages except 5V read 0V if the stdby voltage is 0? Or are they independent?

Thanks for any help in advance..

"does the PS feed the 5V to the main board, which in turn sends the STDBY voltage back to the PS?"

    That's correct

Post some pictures if you need some help

Check at stand-by voltage, 5V, 3,3V from main board for short circuit. Usually you can find smd capacitor with very small resistance.

Works like this: 5V STBY voltage is coming from the PSU over to the main board. When you press the on button, the main board sends PSon an BLon back to the PSU, which in turn fires up all voltage rails and the back light, thus TV is on.
