    INSIGNIA NS-LCD52HD-09 Blinking light

I have a INSIGNIA NS-LCD52HD-09 with the little light in front just blinks and TV never does anything. Just a steady blink and no like it's giving a code. On the power board I have 350volt at the 2 large caps but over on the connector for the 24v I get a fluctuation between 18-23volts continues and for the 5volt I get a fluctuation between 0.2-1.0volts and for the 12 volt I get 2.4 an OL rapidly. All the caps look ok also. Ideas??

On the connector from PSU to Main can you list the pin names next to them and the voltage you read at each

Pictures of the power supply board connectors so we can see the labels for each pin.

OK, we need to get the 5VDC STANDBY Voltage to be stable first.
Check the capacitance and the ESR of the startup-running cap as shown in red circle.
If you do not have the cap checker then try heating that cap with hair dryer for a few minutes then plug the TV into the outlet and see if the 5VDC will become stable at 5VDC or just replace the cap.

The filter caps for the 5V are also OK too?
Try running the power supply board by itself to see if you do have steady 5V, if it is then use 47 Ohms 1W resistor to simulate about 100mA of current draw to see if it is stable, it is, then add another 47 Ohms in parallel to see if it can handle 200mA.

That was the only cap I pulled and checked. I do have a steady voltage now of 4.995volts. But I'm unclear where you want me to hook up this resistor.

Between the 5V pin and the GND pin of the power supply board, no cables to the main board, we simulating the the load for the 5V power supply section.

Well I got a different power board and it still does the same thing so I'm guessing it's the main board. I unplugged the connector for both inverter boards and get the same fluctuating readings.

When i disconnect the mainboard from the PSU all the led's light up blinking fast but as soon as i reconnect the mainboard back to the power supply i get the red light blinking again twice 5 times,
I have attached pictures of the Mainboard, PSU and a small video (zipped) showing what happens when i disconnect the lead from the psu

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

                          Hello,

We have this set here in our shop that is not ginving sign of life besides red light that is blinking one time after pressing the button and nothing more... After detaching the mainboard from the PSU (this set has separate board thank god?! or not...) the backlight comes on. After reattaching nothing besides red light.... Can anyone from the forum help me here? Thank you in advance. Here's a link with images of the mainboard and the memory IC's that are on it.

                          Regards, Norbert!...

So i plug in the charger, amber light starts blinking ,there is 3.3V and 5V present, and 2.4V on the power button, board doesn't turn on, no shorts...
                          I've tried flashing the bios...

interesting thing is the battery was around 7,8V, and it's 11.1V battery, the mosfet near the battery is open, but not charging,i desoldered it,tested it and it's fine ,but the amber light kept going on the charger so i charged the battery with power supply and got it to about 10.5V...
