Sony KDL-40S2000; on 10 min then 4 blinks

I picked up this tv from a co-worker for $25 in hopes for a cheap and easy fix, or it's gonna be a parts tv. My co-worker said that it started acting up after a storm. It will power up and run fine for about 10 minutes then the screen wil flicker a few times and then shut off and blink 4 times. It will start up again after 30 min of being unplugged. I have searched all of Google and nothing "easy" has worked, so it's time to dig deep.

Ok next to the connectors on the Power Supply you will see voltage labels... For each connecter test each pin using your meter set to 20VDC - Black to chassis and Red to the pin. You want to do this when the set is switched on and the LED flashing after it shuts off.

List the label and reading you get like this for EG :

          Connector 1
          Pin 1 - STBY - 5v
          Pin 2 - 12v - 0v
          etc
          etc

          Connector 2
          Pin 1 - etc
          etc

Well, this is weird! After reinstalling the inverter boards and power supply its working fine. Its been on and off for more than 3 hours with no issues. If it start acting up again I will bump this post.

Sony XR-55A80J OLED TV 5 blinks - Troubleshooting steps
              by jason123
              Hi there,
I see a couple of posts related to the troubleshooting of similar TV. The one I have is acting slightly differently and I'd love your help.

So it has the 5 blinks. Previous owner got a TCON, no luck. Got a new Main board (though he didn't do the USB firmware update), again, no improvements.

I see 2 posts that are relevant:

              Sony XR-55X90J 5 blinks
              by matwan
              Hello,

              I have problem with SONY 55X90J. After several check status is as below;
              1. Running power board as stand alone:

              TCON_12V =~ 12.6V
              EVDD V On Max 24V= 19V.

              2.
Running power board with TCON as stand alone:

              Effect as below, attched.

              3. When bottom LVDS cable is disconnected no blinks, but of course no TCON 12V and EVDD.
"I'm almost sure it's a defective panel, but maybe someone has encountered a similar issue on their screen.

              Best regards....

Sony XBR-75X940E intermittent 6 blinks error code
              by GoodCapDude
Hi everyone. First post on Badcaps!

I am trying to fix a Sony 940E from 2017 that either starts normally (and works perfectly until turned off) or goes straight to the 6 blinks error code without showing anything on the screen. It is frustrating to know that it can still work perfectly but is barely usable because of the difficulty starting it up. I am willing to try to short the BL_ERR but I would like to avoid that if possible. Does anyone have a view on this? Thanks a lot....

Sony KD-65A1 Repair – 4 Red Blinks Error
              by AK_777
              Hi everyone!
I have a Sony KD-65A1 TV with a fault – 4 red LED blinks. After disassembly and visual inspection, I found that the G76 power board and DKA board had been replaced. It is also possible that TCON was replaced, but I am not sure – there are a few marker marks that could be factory-made.

Based on assumptions, the previous service attempted to solve the issue by replacing potentially faulty components. I decided to investigate further, found a service manual, and figured out a way to power up the power supply unit autonomously and put the OLED panel and...

              Sony A1e 5-blinks help
              by jchon
Hi I'm new to trying to repair TVs, but I saw a broken OLED offered for a reasonable price and thought I'd try my hand at it.

I found the service manual, which was critical to know where to probe.
              https://www.manualslib.com/manual/20...1e-Series.html

With it I was able to determine that my DKA board was bad, when P_ON#1/2 gets enabled REG_12 on the DKA board collapses. I'm assuming one of the downstream regulators has a short, but I couldn't work out which rail/component and replaced the DKA board entirely.

              Unfortunately the 5-blinks...
