    32LG5030 - lost TCon resistor

I got this TV with usual symptom - strange colors. It has AS15-G so I went ahead and replaced it for AS15-F. Procedure went well but the result is even worse -- whiteish flickering image. See before and after. It is rather clean, no residue and no shorts anywere, cables are seated OK.

I noticed I may have lost one SMD resistor, see the third image, as it is not in mine. Not anymore for sure Any idea what the value may be and if it is the problem? The other ressitors around are each of different value.

I knocked some of those off before! LOL Same TCON...

Notes say its a 210ohm - I can't 100% say this was the initial value resistor but a 210 in place worked on mine

And yes it screwed my image up as I lost voltage at pins on AS-15. Can confirm by checking test points

Yeah well there are voltages here but strange, from 14 it goes slowly up towards 5 V…than nothing, than it jumps to around 12-13 V and it it oscillates, they are not stable as I am used to.

OK so 210 ohm, it may be, I'll try to have a look after some from graphics or so. This is going to be hell, it is so bloody small 0201 I think, 0402 at most.

ADD// I've soldered 220ohm resistor in and no change at all. Seems that something else is probably bad too. Do you think swapping the whole TCon might help? Or is it signal board?

there are a lot of bad AS15 ICs on the market , I think something like 1 in 5 so I would try fitting another before buying a new T.con Flocko

These were brand new and all of them worked OK so far…but I guess I could try, need to buy more anyway, thiw was the last one

Dell 2209WA - power supply - Fusible Resistor replacement
            by jinu_j
            Hi

I am trying to repair an ancient Dell 2209WA Monitor which suddenly shut off with a pop sound. On investigation found that one of the fusible resistors had blown. Further investigation identified multiple components as faulty because of which the fusible resistor blew. Please refer the attached circuit diagram showing the components that were found to be damaged.

            1. FR950 - blown fusible resistor - 0.2 Ohm 1W
            2. Q950 - shorted Q950 MOSFET - 650V 10A N Channel Mosfet
            3. R835 - Blown Resistor - 20KOhm SMD resistor
            4. D930 - Shorted Schottkey Diode...

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
            by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Need help to replace burned resistor in 350w atx psu
            by mikey5791
            Hi to all forum members,

Got this faulty 350 watt atx psu dirt cheap from a local online seller as i am keen to use it as a learning tool to repair faulty power supply.
The faulty part is quite obvious from the burn area near the 16pin KA7500 BD pwm. The fuse is still intact with good continuity.

Upon power on ac, there is 5vdc standby power on cathode of diode D14 and about 10vdc on cathode of diode D13.(This should be the aux power to generate the 12v and 5v rail.)
Initially i replace the two burned resistors near my marked red arrow to 200 ohm resistor...

Can a resistor lose resistance after hot air?
            by MidnightRoller
I am curious if a 0402 resistor could go from 43 ohm to 0. In electronics class and my experience a resistor can degrade and gain resistance all the way up to not being able to conduct at all. I have never heard of a resistor decreasing in resistance and becoming 0 ohm or a dead short… that's not the direction they fail… or so I thought.

I was attempting to remove a wson8 chip on an iMac motherboard and it required a lot of heat, on one side of the chip were 3 0402 resistors that were very close. I popped the chip out unintentionally out of the tweezers and sent those resistors...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
            by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...
