Youtube app not working on panasonic tv 55" gt30

    Youtube app not working on panasonic tv 55" gt30

    I am not sure if this is right place to post but panasonic stop supporting my YouTube app.I was wondering if the was a way to connect device or way to still watch youtube on my tv.i tried connecting through my iPad the ipad connected to tv but would get error on tv that it could not read it.Did not know if there is a app or player that I can play for youtube so I can play it on the tv.thanks

    yeah, great stuff isn't it. At least it's not just Aus that copped it but worldwide it appears. I sent an inquiry seein if they intended to provide a firmware upgrade.......nup

    This was a suggestion I got over here.

        I expect so. have not tried it or looked into it. One way to make a buck, remove support then sell your our device(conspiracy theory)

          This is another reason to avoid buying smart TVs as they go out of date so quickly. 2011 TV already doesn't work on some apps.
          A chromecast or other smart TV stick is a better option as you can upgrade only that little stick when needed. Why upgrade the whole TV?

            use a raspberry pi2, with an IR reciever.
            that way you just update the o.s.

              Yeah, it's a great device - I replaced an entire PC with it. The Pi2 is faster than my old Windows 7 PC running XBMC. Only disadvantage: no Netflix, but the Xbox fulfils that role.

                Only paid 100 for tv I am glade I did not pay 1500-2000 for it.just bad for people who do pay that amount and there tv becomes outdated so quick.i will invest in chromecast stick.just kids want youtube option I fine without it.

                      Yes, there's no reason the hardware should be incapable. The Youtube 2.0 API only makes the interface more common between youtube apps, including, of course, ads.

                        Well got a tc-p50ut50 it is a 2012 and fixed it bought kit from shopjimmy for the ss board.It has youtube and it works so hopely it will be around for a few years.

                          Youtube dropping like flies on MANY devices. My older toshiba regza was not a smart tv. So I figured (at the time 2011) I'd buy a top of the line sony blu ray player which would make my tv into a smart tv. Sony pulled the youtube plug on my player last month as well!!
                          Brutal!! We used it lots for youtube. Regardless of make or model. Youtube app just don't work on "not" so old devices
