Panasonic tc-p42s30.. confused?? how to test transistors in circuit

I have the above mentioned TV. Has the 6 blinking LED lights. I've read many threads in this forum with similar issues (press power button, clicks, then led starts to blink, no picture or sound, no glow, no response to remote) and it points to some bad components on the SN board. I've done some unplugging tests, and volt readings to support this theory for my TV also. I'm not very knowledgeable on how to test the transisistors. Mainly, what they're pinouts are, what readings I should get in diode or ohm mode. From watching vids on YouTube, correct me if I'm wrong, if I get two different reading from a common pin when testing the other 2 pins; that common pin is the base. And the pin with the higher reading of the two is the emitter. Which leaves the last pin being the collector. But I've also read and and seen the terms "gate source drain" used. does gate =base, source=emmitter, and drain=collector? Or are they just completely different? If I have a bad transistor, it won't give me those 2 readings I need to determined configuration. I feel like I'm going in circles.. And the letters/markings around these particular transistors(Q401,402,421,422); E,C,G; confuse me even more. Do they represent emmitter, collector, gate? ..I've pulled the board off the tv( the ribbons to the panel made me a lil paranoid about how much force needed to twist and bend them, so it took a lil while). That's where I'm at in this process. Here's a pic of what I'm working with. I'm new to this, so please bare with me..any help would greatly be appreciated.

        Humble it is.

Those 4 transistors are IGBT insulated gate bipolar transistors, what does that mean....who cares. they usually failed shorted

keeping this simple, leave it where it is in diode and just probe all combinations of 2 legs and see if showing short ( o.oo or very low)

the transistors you mention I'd start there but I expect this will be a moduslinkpts rebuild job for the SN

i would expect bad SN on this TV. there's other threads about including a very recent one in the UK for this series. You'll get plenty of info doing a search and having more of a read

Tw, thanks for giving me direction where to continue. It's late here, and I will resume with probing and the results tomorrow. οΏ½οΏ½

For sure or go to page 2 and read the UK model TX-P42S30B

            very common fault

How Can I test PWM DM0365R?
              by chth96
              Hello
I have power adaptor(220V/input, 12V 1.2A/output) which has symptom of fluctuating output DC voltage between 11.5V-12.2V.
So I opened its plastic case and when switched it on, I heard constant tik tik sound from inside its PCB.
I measured DC voltage between negative and positive pin of the largest capacitor(400v 10uf) and it was measured contant 300V.
I also measured ESR value of all capacitors and I noticed that one of capacitor(KMG 16v 470uf), which located in the secondary side, have high ESR value(10 ohm),So I replaced it with same specification NXH capacitor....

Panasonic TC-P55ST50 8 blinks then no blinks
              by Andre Gilbert
Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing hereπŸ€”?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting πŸ˜‚.

Panasonic tx-55cx802b stuck on panel test mode.
It was working normally but few days ago some of the LED reflectors fall off.
I've opened it up carefully, re-glued, while it was open switched it on to test LEDs.
              Then carefully assembled back.
After plugging in to power remote does not work.
Using power button on the TV it turns on but gets itself into a panel testing mode: white, gradient, red, gradient, blue, gradient, green and so on switching between colours.

Anyone knows how to get out of this panel testing mode?

              I've tried so...

test active pfc power with lamp test
              by khelane
              Hello
I have a big problem and that is that in some cases when repairing active pfc power supplies I cannot work with a test lamp. I can only get help with 5 volts standby and for starting and starting I have to work without a lamp and this way there is a possibility of parts exploding and other parts being added.
Sometimes with a multimeter test the problems can be reduced to some extent, but I had several cases that had to be tested on and online and recently two varistors exploded. They had terrible resistance because the power supplies were over 800 watts.
              Is there a way...

Mats / mods: detected and repaired GPU fault. Cant seem to test after!
              by chronic519
              Hello.

GPU came in, green lines. Spent lots of time using to get the Mats / mods drive working (found on youtube).
Found issue with a RAM block
              Replaced, green lines gone.
Trying to test again, assuming getting the false positive. Originally had over 1K on a single bank. Now getting tosses low between banks.
Used a good card to test and same results low errors 32+.

I am just search for some form of command to do a full test on the GPU.
I just ran the mats command with my good GPU and passed after roughly 40 min.
              The repaired one, ran...
