Hey guys , i got a beginners question about repairing the LCD panel. Maybe a dumb question but are lcd panels from the same brand interchangeable?
I was working on a 37" Philips ambilight tv which has a AUO lcd panel and unfortunately i "broke" 1 of the tab bonds when i reassembled the tv. Its not cracked but its not glued to the small print anymoreβ¦.. ( Beginners mistake ).
I also have a Samsung 37" which also has a AUO lcd panel , same layout and model so i thought , lets try and see what happens if i place that LCD panel in the philips tv. ( Even the screw holes and design was the same , thats why i took the guess ).
Philips tv turns on and the backlight + lcd light up but i don't get a image. Can i fix this or is this firmware in the LCD panel that says " i don't know this T-con " ? If so , is it like a "bios" that i can replace from the old panel?
I searched the forum for tab bond repair but nobody replaced/glued a tab back to the print β¦.. Any tips?
