    Samsung PS43E450

Working on this Samsung TV today.
Initial fault has been repaired faulty X-Main.
Repaired the x-Main, four shortet surface mount IGBTs - RJP30H1

So now the TV fires up, however it has 3 horizontal pixel width black lines.

I resat the connections and gave them a good clean but no joy.
A replacement buffer was only £5 so though worth the gamble and ordered it from that trusted market place that is eBay.

Anyway buffer arrived today so before installing it I tested it and of course it was shorted so pointless installing it in the TV.

Question is, if i remove the bad buffer IC will the TV power up and display an image? (obviously with distortion/horizontal black bar where the IC would have been. Or do the more recent plasmas now shut down when an IC is removed?

It would save me the bother ordering another buffer if the original black lines remained.

    Re: Samsung PS43E450

It should power up without the IC, but the picture above/below the IC might be missing.
Lines from left to right and top to bottom, plasma or LCD, are almost -always- the panel, unfortunately.
Samsung really, really cheaped on on their late model budget plasmas...

Yeah I know, had a few plasmas with horizontal lines and just reseating the connections fixed it, but for a fiver I thought what the hell.

I'll remove the IC and update soon.

        Re: Samsung PS43E450

Unfortunately after the ICs were removed the TV did go into error detect and the control board started to blink once every 6 or so seconds. Nothing on screen.

So I'm guessing that more recently plasmas won't power up fully with an IC removed.

        Damn.

Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
            by howardc64
            • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
            • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
            • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
            • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
            • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
            by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
            • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
            • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

Colorful LCD Vertical Lines on Samsung ue55es8090
            by Falki
Hello there, ive recently found an older 55inch Samsung SmartTV.
Sadly it has vertical lines at the left and one line in the middle-right.

I have already tested out the connections and have looked at the soldered ribbons of the LCD panel to see if some contacts got loose by pushing them a bit but with no success.
I have factory resetted the TV as well but also with no luck.

I am afraid that it is indeed a LCD Panel issue but there are NO scratches or any impact-marks..

A similar issue has been posted as well but also with no actual response ...

            Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines
            by Rubenlily
            Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...
