Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
A question about this tv issue, does it still seem like its the mainboard issue even though I can never turn on or off the tv because as soon I plug in the power cord the front red lights start doing the blinking code sequence.
So will a bad mainboard cause the power supply from not even fully turning on the tv and such? I sent the mainboard back to the ebay seller he said he can send me another board before giving me a refund. thanks

Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
I got it used on ebay supposedly pulled from working TV with cracked or bad screen. I contacted the seller he's going to send me another mainboard. I'll do voltage later today. ThanksLeave a comment:

What are the voltages reading now?
Also where did you get the replacement board?Leave a comment:

Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
You say " form the main board" but you mean from the main board right? So the issue is the main board bad? I would like to learn a little bit so it should be steady and not go lower than 2.5 volts right and what does the 3.3 mean?
I should buy a new main board and that's it? Thanks
So basically the main is not sending the Power ON/OFF signal properly meaning its faulty
You can rule out the PSU by forcing the PSU on.... Using ~500ohm resistor you can jump the 5v to the Power ON/OFF pin while the connector is removed from the mainboard. Doing this causes the PSU to think that the signal has been sent from the mainboard thus switching all the power lines on. You will be able to check all voltages on the connector again and see they will have now changed and be correct. Of course if after this they are not correct then there is a PSU issue. Sets will vary as to how to force the PSU on, Some require 5v to be fed to the ON/OFF pin and other require the ON/OFF pin to be jumped to ground.
There are a few basic components that can be checked on the mainboard but pretty much as a rule we advise replacementLast edited by newtothis; 04-24-2015, 05:32 AM.Leave a comment:

Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
No pin's names? That would have made it easy for us to spot the problem.
1- GND: I know this is ground 0.00v
2- OD_ON: 0.01
3- B13V: from 0.10v to 0.20v
4- PWM_DIM: 0.40v
5- B13V: 0.10v
6- N.C.: from 0.10v to 0.20v
7- Vamp: 0.10v
8- BLU_ON/OFF: 0.00v
9- Vamp: 0.10v
10- GND: 0.00v
11- GND: 0.00v
12- GND: 0.00v
13- B5V:0.01v
14- A5V: 5.31v
15- B5V: 0.01v
16- Power on/off: from 0.25v to 3.31v
Pin 16 is the problem form the main board, it should be steady at >2.5V (3.3)
I should buy a new main board and that's it? ThanksLast edited by pctektgg; 04-23-2015, 11:50 PM.Leave a comment:

Sorry I thought someone had a schematic of the pin names layout brb with that...
I put the names above in the readings.Last edited by pctektgg; 04-23-2015, 11:35 PM.Leave a comment:

Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
Yes
Write it out with what pin you are testing then the reading :
For eg (Your board will differ on what is written)
5vstby - 5v
GND - 0v
STBY - 5v
etc etcLeave a comment:

Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
OK so I have to plug in and turn on the tv right? actually tv wont necessary turn on because right away from plugging it in the red light bottom right corner of the tv will start the light code sequence but maybe that's enough to test.
The black probe I put against a metal screw or chassis right then touch each pin and write down the readings right?Leave a comment:

Re: possible red blinking light code, no power on samsung led tv
Check out this video same exact model code I have and same symptoms with the lights flash sequence, the fix in the video was a new led backlight part, one of the led's was burnt. Does one single burnt led cause it to not turn on?

We can figure it out from voltage outputs etcLeave a comment:

Sorry yes I was dealing with other threads too.
No it has to be in the tv connected and powered onLeave a comment:

by Fergal22Hi,
I have the above tv that just shows a red light blinking twice 5 times, i have taken the back off and all the capacitors seem ok,
When i disconnect the mainboard from the PSU all the led's light up blinking fast but as soon as i reconnect the mainboard back to the power supply i get the red light blinking again twice 5 times,
I have attached pictures of the Mainboard, PSU and a small video (zipped) showing what happens when i disconnect the lead from the psu
Any help would be appreciated... -
by norbiszokeHello,
We have this set here in our shop that is not ginving sign of life besides red light that is blinking one time after pressing the button and nothing more... After detaching the mainboard from the PSU (this set has separate board thank god?! or not...) the backlight comes on. After reattaching nothing besides red light.... Can anyone from the forum help me here? Thank you in advance. Here's a link with images of the mainboard and the memory IC's that are on it.
Regards, Norbert!... -

by 3DDDHello, I have a Samsung UE46D6100. It cannot be turned on, only the red status LED flashes, the power supply part bn44-00458a gives an output of 5V(A), it is probably functional. I don't know where to look for the error, according to the video it should be a faulty mosfet. I found a mosfet marked WAAH, I don't know what it is. Can anyone help me?...2 Photos02-20-2025, 12:51 PM
