Re: is there any way to remove minor scratches on TV LCD screen
Lots of old dodges like Beeswax and Oil,--Think covering scratches on higly polished wood surfaces.....
Maybe Brasso will polish it out--But will also make for a shiny area rather than the matte surface of usual LCD....TELEFIX
How PLASMA SCREENS WORK, X-SUS and Y-SUS what they do--

Try a clean pencil eraser. It works better than you'd think.Comment

Toothpaste can help buff some scratches out. Any buffing compound ok for plastic finishes should work too.Comment

Matt a few years ago we had those machines who could buff a CD with some plactic material, it would remove the scratches from the surface of a CD. You could simply get that machine, it has a very fast rotating motor on which some plastic material is connected. Once it comes in contact with the surface you want to remove scratches from, it fills those scratches up with plastic. I'm not sure if we can find those easily today though.Comment

Re: is there any way to remove minor scratches on TV LCD screen
I use 91% isopropyl alcohol with a cue tip and rub straight along the scratch since i get
tv's from a recyling place most have some scratches but i have had good luck with this technique if you try this, test on a small spot and if it makes things worse then do not
do the rest of the scratches with this technique but for almost every tv i have worked
on this has worked great for meComment

Re: is there any way to remove minor scratches on TV LCD screen
There was silicone heatsink compound (clear), instead of the newer white stuff, made by GC electronics, it works well. You just smear it in the scratch with your finger, then buff off the rest along the scratch with a microfiber cloth. It was like Vaseline (petro jelly), not sure if that the Vaseline would work, as it's a petro product, and might react to the plastic, but the GC silicone heat sink compound worked like magic when we used it. one thing, it never sets, so you periodically might have to reapply if you clean the rest of the screen, but we were shocked how well it worked. The scratches literally disappeared. You could try the Vaseline on a junk screen and see if it does the same thing, and not eat the plastic if you can't locate any GC Electronics clear heat sink compoundComment

BTW, this tip came from another tech, he said he read it on some forum but we just happened to have some of that clear stuff in stock. I can't remember what forum or who he got the tip from, sorry to whoever originally discovered this.Comment

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....-

by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by Maxpower3every time I open the tool, I have the screen that appears
and I am always in a hurry to use it so I click and it automatically sends me a link to the manufacturer.
It annoys me lol.
2 solutions to remove it.
Either you remove pic.bmp and it no longer appears so no more links when clicking.
or else you can modify the exe to remove the .bmp
hope this helps users...01-15-2025, 03:24 PM -
by smic717394Hi,
I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on... -
by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... - Loading...
