    Panasonic TX-P42G20E 4 blink

Hi all. My hair is turning all gray. My only 4 years old pana TX-P42G20E switched off last friday giving a 2 blink error. Switched the set off for a while when i swtched on again the blink was now 4 pointing at the power board.
I have been troubleshooting for a while now.
Caps and fets seems to be ok.
One thing that puzzles me is, when i meter from Q505 to IC603 the connection comes in on leg 1. It should, how ever, come in on leg 15.
    Any tips?

Yes! Read another thread. The Sc board is shorted, or close to. more fets and ic 521 shorted. Now i just need to find spares.

well, depends on your ability I guess. $125 for a board or $20 in parts.

I'm biased because I can fix these.

Buy one and try to fix the old one. Fix it and sell it or keep as a spare or at worst sell the dead board but definitely don't throw the old board out as it is good for a core repair. these are getting scarce like many others.
It would be interesting to see what you find dead

Ordered a new board from that cradeal thing. Interesting if I will recieve anything.
I have tried to follow your guide to trouble shoot the components. I am not wery sure but it seems that a lot is dead.
I could never dream about throwing the old board away. Think I'll try to repair it.
Any hints where to find parts?

Recieved an AG Board today, it should have been an AH board. Does it matter?

Did you order an AH? paypal claim? AG will work but won't be properly matched to the panel. Without looking at the parts lists I'd say visually the 2 inductor coils may be the only difference between the 2.

Have you checked it first for faults i.e shorted transistors Q661 is one that is usually always bad.

                    1. I di order AH, Invoice and sitestates AH
                    2. Have clamed. But it is some 14 days in the mail.
                    3. There is some bigger caps and a few more fets on the AG board.
                    4. The AG bord seems to be okay. Tested without bufferboard connected and sc shorted. no error code.

You mean Q661 on the new board?

Tried to locate the parts you mentioned earlier, found 6 of 13. they are not all transistors?

I can't tell about the caps in the pictures, coils i can, transistors looks same qty and locations in the pics on SJ.

if no error with SC50 jumped and buffers removed, that is a pass

you're right as far as parts that blow it's a mixture of IGBTs, fets, driver ics, diodes etc

Well we all know that neither panasonic or a panasonic tech would do this and if they all interchanged then why would one produce different versions.

I'd love to see them supply a 42" for the 54" and see how that goes with half the transistors missing.

I think their english and "Just install it" sums it up.

For sure this will fire up and produce a picture, probably won't see anything vastly different. I just don't know what the long term result will be, TOM may or ask panasonic butI'd expect they'd say not suitable. Or , swap the parts that are different but defeats the purpose of paying good money for something half right.

Up to you what you do but they can't argue , item not supplied as ordered.

I've restated my claim. Now let's see what their reply is.
May have to make a Paypal claim.

I recently got my hands on a 60" Panasonic P60ZT60 plasma tv (european model) that has some strange issues along with an 8 blink code.
It know this tv is getting old but it was once considered one of the best plasmas ever made, and i think it is still holds on to that even by todays standards.

So, long story short. When i first got the tv it had a very bright washed out picture with very raised blacks in all picture modes and i couldn't find the cause in the picture setting menus.
After doing a factory reset this problem was gone and the picture was back to...

                              Hi everyone,

I'm new here and trying to repair my Panasonic TX-P50V10E plasma TV, which is currently showing the 6 red blink error code.

Just for context: I'm used to building PCs and installing modchips in old consoles, but this is my first time trying to fix a TV. I'm French, and while my English is okay, I'm using ChatGPT to help translate and clarify my messages as much as possible — so please forgive any odd phrasing.

I'm also not very experienced with using a multimeter, but I'm very motivated and ready to follow instructions carefully and report...

Years ago my tv gave a 7 blink code which turned into 8 during diagnosis. I had ordered a replacement ss board but somehow the tv started working again and i never used the board. Now a week ago my tv flickered and shut off at random and gave the 8 blink error code. The same issue it had all those years ago. The only difference this time is that over the last few months there has been some purple and green tinge that comes and goes in more solid colors such as white.

Anyway i checked all the screws and replaced the ss board with a known good one and still got 8 blinks. I saw a...

Give the automotive nature, I love fixing and restoring things and I have in the past fixed many simple electronics, soldering, etc.. but this is a bit more involved so I found this forum, and I am very glad I did.

I picked up a Panasonic TC-P60VT60 with the 7 BLINK error.
Upon removing the back plate I found spider webs, dead spiders, and an amazing amount of dust. I did my best to clean the surface of the boards with a portable vacuum...

I aquired this Panasonic 60" plasma around the time my first child was born. It was meant to be a project tv, hoping to fix it chipping away at the repair in my free time. Well that was 2 years ago and i'm really just getting around to making a sincere effort to see if I can ressurect this beast.

The symptoms of the tv ar as follows:
                              • Plug AC in to back of TV
                              • After about 2 seconds the relay on the P-sub board will click on and then a fraction of a second later it clicks back off
                              • The 3 blink code is given by the power LED
                              • If the TV is unplugged and then
