Are the system menus (volume, settings) also affected?

I suspect it is an LVDS setting fault or main board problem.
If you can get into the service menu I've found a factory reset usually fixes these sets.

Looks like a Chinese OEM, so I'd try:
          Input 3690
          Input 2580
          Input 4725
          Input 9631

And see if any bring up a hidden menu...

You will see a menu with many options not normally available to the customer. e.g. panel settings, factory reset, input settings, system settings. NOT the normal contrast/brightness/etc.

I don't know. I gave some suggestions. It's entered through a secret combination. The four suggestions are commonly used by Chinese-made LCD TVs, but there are many other options so I can't really help you there. You might have to do some research to find out.

re post 9 not sure if youve understood tom i think what he means is using the remote control press input button followed by the group of four numbers if the first one dosnt work try the others ones you may then get to the service menu then you can do a reset

Main board replacement (HDMI inputs, etc.) would probably fix this fault.
