Samsung LN52A550 Tab bond faulure or bad screen?

I got this 52" from a guy down the road, the screen was not this bad off until I started messing with the tab bondings. If I hold some of them with only 2 hands and some ample pressure I can nearly get half of the screen back. I have an exact match TCON board for this tv(im not 100% if its good or not) but when I install the TCON into the tv I get the same picture so that leads me to believe that it is most likely the screen.

My question is, is this screen too far gone with bad tab bonds or could it possibly be repaired by a method like budm here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...udm+52+samsung

Any feedback would be helpful, attempt the fix if it is the tab bondings or just part the tv out.

    Thanks for your opinion guys.

    Corey.

Try flexing the screen to see if it will make it change what you see on the screen, also try re-seating the cables.

Flexing changed a little bit of the lines and what not. Reseating the cables I didnt notice a difference.

I have tried, I am seeming to be unsuccessful at restoring the panel by messing with the tabs. Is it possible that the panel is just bad?

Yes, a bad panel is possible. Samsung have a lot of issues in this regard.

That stinks. The side with the vertical lines I cant get hardly anything to change with that, and the other side I can get to clear up but only about 2/3 of the half of the screen. Thinking it was a tcon I replaced it with the same result. Im calling it on this one guys, a bad panel I suppose.

No.. Actually i found the fix on accident.. i had the tabs exposed and touched one of the flex cables accidentally and it cleared up for a sec.. i fixed both of the TVs i had the same way, a little piece of material to act as a heatsink for the chip on the ribbon cable going to the panel
