    Philips 42PFP5332D/37 Plasma - Won't turn on

    (Chassis EJ3.0U PA)

When plugged in the Blue LED turns on and relays clicks, screen does not light. About 10 seconds later repeats, for 2-3x. Then I get a 5 slow blinks and 3 short blinks, which should be Error Code 53:

Error 53. This error will indicate that the VIPER has started
to function (by reading his boot script, if this would have
failed, error 5 would blink) but initialization was never
completed because of hardware peripheral problems
(NAND flash, ...) or software initialization problems.
Possible cause could be that there is no valid software
loaded (try to upgrade to the latest main software version).

I found the software on the Philips website and put in on a USB drive, but can't get the TV to turn on and take the update.

I actually did get the TV to come on at first when I first got it, but then not again.

If I can't do the upgrade do I need a new SSB board?

Well this is definitely a problem with the SSB, took the board off because I see one of the HDMI ports was damaged and attempted repaired, but they damaged all the pads. I thought this may have been causing a short, but I removed it and it still did the same thing.

Since applying heat made a difference and I had the board out, I reflowed the 2 BGA IC's on the bottom of the board, and the TV is now coming right on and working normally. It still won't recognize the USB drive though.

So need a new SSB board.

I left out while trying to get TV to power on initially (I had got it to power on once or twice randomly), I started heating up the boards individually with a hair dryer. Finally I got to when I was heating the main SSB board, I could get at least an intermittent start up. I thought at first it was a PS problem.

Then I saw the bad HDMI port and took the board out. When that didn't fix it, I decided to try reflowing those chips which turned out to be the main issue.

Re: Philips 42PFP5332D/37 Plasma - Won't turn on

I just got one of these tvs the other day broken from Goodwill and am trying to fix it. Yesterday I replaced 6 caps, 3 on the main board and 3 on the power board. On a powerup, it will click, show initial screen lighting (no video source), click again after a few seconds then turn off, with a blue light flickering with the red light... after a few seconds it will attept to turn itself back on, with the same results. (looping) .. of note, the cover is back on (silly me, why did I think I was done?) and I can see two green lights on the back of the board light up until the reset kicks in.

Where are the error codes mentioned above and how do I determine which error I have? Obviously I missed a bad cap somewhere, but the 6 I saw were the only ones bulging. Any thoughts that could help me locate common cap failures on this board?

On a side note, someone removed the antenna coax connector.. any idea where to get a replacement?

Hey still hoping for some help here.

I tried removing some of the caps today on the power board and testing capacity with my cap meter, everything turned out pretty good but that's about the stretch of my knowledge.

Are there frequent bad caps for this board / television that I can test out and see if it is the common problem?

            Philips 47pfl6008s wont turn on
            by JorKsX
Hello. Got my hands on Philips 47pfl6008s/12.
Problem is that it does not turn on. Last owner said the problem came slowly.
One day did not respond to remote, had to unplug from AC and then back and it worked. next day had to disconnect 3-4 times before it turned on.
And then it went into hours of unplugging and replugging until it turned on.
When I plug AC into tv, it does not respond to "turn on" button or anything else.

After 10-15minutes the TV starts blinking red LED twice.
So it blinks twice, then waits 3 seconds, then again twice...

Philips 55PUS6804/12 turn on & off (probably backlight issue)
            by ovrax
            Hello everyone,

First of all, please excuse me as I'm quite new to this field.

I have a Philips 55PUS6804/12 TV. It turns on and off instantly (backlight flash). I personally think it's a backlight issue (faulty LEDs). Could you help me confirm my diagnosis?

I've checked and the T-CON seems to be fine. I disconnected one ribbon cable at a time at the bottom, but the problem persists.
The Ambilight works perfectly and stays on.

            No sounds.

            Thanks in advance.

MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX (MS-16R6) LAPTOP WON'T TURN ON AFTER RESTARTING
            by RdeveLabs
            To all the members here...

Let me tell you a little bit about what happened to my laptop (MSI GF63 THIN 11UCX model: MS-16R6) that “maybe” you know how to solve this problem.

So before this problem happened, my laptop was running smoothly. When I wanted to restart my laptop, it looked fine at first. But after I waited for this restart process to take a long time, until finally I panicked (because the restart process did not finish plus the laptop screen only showed a black screen), I immediately pressed and held the power button to force the laptop to turn off. But...
