I've got 3 Samsung tv's, 2 of which have/had the tab bond problem. Seems the internal heat is a big contributor to it, and although the damage may be done I'd like to do what I can to prevent further/future damage. I'd like to mount a couple small, say 40mm 12v computer style silent fans in each, up near the top vents, to pull the hot air out, but I'm not sure where to tie in the power. I know there's a 12v hookup on the plug in connectors, but would they handle the minimal, yet additional load of the fans? Is there a better place to tap into them?

Re: Heat dissipation ?
The main power board inside the tv will have a 12v rail that will have enough current to power the fans fine, are you planning on installing them inside or outside of the tv ?Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: Heat dissipation ?
Btw great idea while people dont see it but passively cooled lcds and plasmas are slowly cooking them selves to death, installing fans is a great idea the only lcd I have seen with fans is a 32" sharp but most plasmas I see have fans....Please Do Not PM My Page Asking For Help Badcaps Is The Place For Advise, Page Linked For Business Reasons Only. Re: Heat dissipation ?
I planned on mounting them inside the tv, maybe on the rear housing vents themselves. Several years ago I had a heating issue inside the compartment on our entertainment center. I took an old computer power supply case, mounted a fan inside and powered it with an old 12v accessory transformer, and plugged it into the "switched" post on the receiver. Set it to blow between the receiver and the dvd player. It worked like a charm, so I figured this might help here too.
I'll check my "spare parts bin" for fans, or get some new ones on the way. Thanks for the reply.
