Re: 1/4 of display missing on Samsung PS-50A457P1D
I'm still going to put my finger on the control board because the mainboard sends a main signal to the control board then that board has to display coordinates or quadrants of the screen so the problem is before the test generator on the control board. Meaning that the board is not deciphering the signal to send to that quadrant of the screen but it can with the test patterns because those are built into the control board Itself.
I have located a board, it is the same PCB No, but mine is REV No R2.0, and the one I have found is REV No R2.1 , will this be ok, or does it need to be exactly the same.
The seller says it is from a PS50A456P2D set, but I assume if the PCB no's match it should be ok?
Just to refer back to my earlier post regarding compatability, should this control board be suitable?
Re: 1/4 of display missing on Samsung PS-50A457P1D
It could be that your 50" main board thinks it is driving a 42" panel (1365x768 and 1024x768 respectively.) Is there any way to change panel setting from 42" to 50" in the service menu?
FWIW ... The control board test pattern basically just bypasses the LVDS input. So it's pretty unlikely the control board is bad, IMHO.

Re: 1/4 of display missing on Samsung PS-50A457P1D
Hi guys. Well, new board arrived today, fitted ok, set fires up ok. Fault Still there.
Tom66, have looked in the service menu, and can't find any option to change display size. The picture was there originaly, and now it seems to continue onto the non displaying part, rather than the picture being reduced to fit the area.
I am going to put the Logic board back on ebay and try and find a main board. Any other ideas welcome, cos at the moment I am stuffed!
