    Vizio 390-A1

I have this Vizio 39" lcd , When the power button is pressed the power led lights but thats about it, looks like the eeprom could be corrupt. Power supply is working fine.

The main board is a 705TXCSM046 It uses a Winbond 25Q64FVSIG eeprom.

Does anyone have a copy of this eeprom?

and has anyone used a MX25L6406E as a replacement/Sub, It looks like it should work.

It was the flash that was bad, programming and replacing it repaired the tv.
      Thank me very much

So how did you go about getting the firmware and programming the chip? Source for the firmware?

            Re: Vizio 390-A1

First I tried programming a chip from a different model vizio_e371e I found here, and as expected it did'nt work, would not even turn on the power led. I then read the original chip, and programmed a new one, installed it and the tv worked, so maybe having the different model chip installed did something or maybe the original chip had a problem. I don't know. Everything seems to be working fine now, but I know these Vizios can act wierd sometimes.
I know one other thing and that is after programing the new flash, installing it in the tv, removing it and reading it, there is a slight difference in the 2 files, so the tv does write to part of it, I believe most of the tv settings are stored in the other eeprom (u408) on the board

RJ can you please explain the flashing and programming of the chip, I have the same tv with the same problem and would like to fix it if this is the solution.

However I need to know how, and what chip to reprogram, and obviously the software to reprogram it and the file or firmware it needs to have flashed onto it. Please explain.

                Thanks, Corey.
