    Vizio P50HDTV10A screen flickering

Ok I have a Vizio P50HDTV10A Plasma that someone gave to me. He told me that the TV screen was all white.

When I got the TV home and plugged it in, the screen was flashing very dimly.

I said ok and decided to check the internet for these symptoms. Now I was still saying to myself, that the previous owner said the screen was all white, so I left it plugged in to see if the screen would go all white.

After a few minutes I heard what seemed like a loud pop.

The screen continued to flash and flicker only now it was just a little brighter.

I also noticed that when I turned the TV off, that the power light would flash ten times before going to yellow.

I have searched through the board and from this thread "https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=18495&highlight=P50HDTV10A" I followed the directions where it said to unplug power from the board, which I did.

The TV did turn on, but I did not hear any sound. Initially I had unplugged both connectors, so I decided to plug in the smaller (bottom one) to see if I would get some sound. When I turned it on I still did not get any sound.

Everything points to the Y - sustain board. I am looking for advice on what else I can check. I also feel if it is the chip on the board I could desolder and resolder. I do have a lot of experience in that.

Finally I would like to say that this site has been a wealth of information to me in the past and i want to thank everyone for reading and for the advice.

I uploaded the videos to YouTube.

The first one is before the loud Pop. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls62c-waTJI

The second one is after the loud pop - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kopw...ature=youtu.be

    Re: Vizio P50HDTV10A screen flickering

I have one of these sets. Does it have an LG panel and boards?

Don't run it long with what's going on, it might damage the panel.

These are known for bad caps on PSU. I had to change all but the 4 largest caps before mine would work properly. Unplug the connector CN805 & CN806 on PSU.

Check for all standby volts as indicated in this post https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...9&postcount=14

I also changed all of the lower volt caps on Y & Z sus.

The pop you heard could have been a diode popping or a capacitor or any # of other things. A visual inspection should find it.

There may be other problems but its best to make sure all voltages are present and stable before throwing parts at it.

      Thank you for your reply.

I have not gotten around to taking voltage readings yet, but I am curious if it does turn out to be the Y sustain board and the IC chip is bad, is this something that can be de-soldered and replaced or would special equipment be needed.

I do have extensive soldering experience and do have what I believe to be a good soldering station.

I checked for any repair videos but could not find any. Just looking for as much advice as I can get .

Again I did not pay anything for this TV and I feel it is definitely worth the investment

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
        by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Gen 10 - Flickering Screen
        by Ado02
        Hello everyone,

We recently replaced the OLED screen on a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Gen 10. After about a month, the replacement screen began to flicker. Initially, updating the Intelยฎ Irisยฎ Xe graphics driver resolved the issue for about a week. However, when the problem recurred, updating the driver again had no effect.

The flickering only occurs once the system reaches the Windows login screen. Interestingly, if we disable the Intel GPU driver or connect the laptop to an external monitor, the flickering stops. We have tried installing two different replacement screens,...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
        by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HP ENVY HP 13-aq1013dx - screen flickering black if using touchpad or external mouse

This device came in due to the screen flickering if you use the touchpad or external mouse. It will flicker black when this occurs. If you use the touchscreen, the behavior does not appear. Also, if connected to external monitor, the external monitor is not affected by the flickering. I did a good amount of research on this, and concluded that it is due to the display driver. HP does not offer Windows 11 drivers for this model so I got the replacement drivers direct from Intel. I installed them and the problem...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
        by smic717394
        Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...
