That looks more like some sort of controller IC and there are probably shorted transistors downstream of it. Trace out where it goes and check all the large IGBT transistors for shorts and everything in between if there are small surface mount ones connected off that chip they are probably blown also.

Give us Make and Model and IC part#. This way maybe it can be located by schematic or techs that have access to a board.

Hmm, that looks like Ve-bias circuit so it would cause dim/underdischarged image or sometimes pink tint.

you are compeltely right, when it was burning it had purpleish glow with a dim image! I left the xbuffer connector on the pdp display? This somehow got the IC burning.

The make of this tv is philips.
              model : 42PF7320/10
              PDP s42SD-yd07

and the model xbuffer is shown in the picture.

It's a FET driver, I had a couple of guesses at it already. possibly one of them will work maybe you guys can work out from the cct which type of driver. both rated at 600v

Isn't the same chip findable on the ybuffer or something? As that is still working.

I guess, I'm going to need to buy a used xbuffer? As no1 can indetify the FET driver?

found this, looks like different part number but board looks same and off the same panel,

$21 isn't bad, you can't get board cheaper in Europe somewhere?

                              They go for 80$ here.
I tried to buy my x-main on Alibaba.com not sure if it will arrive, but I paid with creditcard so it should be fine.

This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

ASRock B650M PRO RS - BIOS CHIP 25Q256JW BLOCKED BY STATUS REGISTERS
                                by DynaxSC
                                Hi

I have a very strange issue with the BIOS SPI chip of an ASRock B650M PRO RS motherboard.
The SPI chip is an Winbond 25Q256JWEQ model (1V8).
The motherbaord doas not POST - it lits only CPU and DRAM EZ Debug Leds, and stays that way forever.
The Flashback function of the motherbaord is also not working, despite all instructions followed correctly - I'm 100% sure of this.

I have then desoldered the chip, backupped the contents, and tried to earease the chip in order to program stock image, but the chip is locked by status registers SREG2 (TB) and SREG6...

                                Hello All,

This is my first post here, I have worked in IT all my life however my knowledge when it comes to component level motherboard repair is extremely limited. That being said I have been attempting to learn more in this area. This laptop in question had liquid spilled on it a couple years back. No repair attempt was made at that time.

Upon plugging the laptop in and attempting to power it does not do anything besides show a white status light on the front that blinks on and off continuously. I then proceeded to remove the board from the laptop and inspected further....
