    i have a tv power supply with a bad 330uf 25v cap on it.can i change it for a 220uf 25v or a 470uf 25v?just dont have any 330 caps

    Re: lower voltage caps

470uf 25V would be my first choice, if I only had those 2 to choose from. You can go higher in voltage too, if you have some.

        Re: lower voltage caps

Just for testing, I've used 2 in parallel to equal near the correct capacitance. Or, as CapLeaker said, higher voltage if you have that. Lower voltage could pop.

It is risky, sometimes changing the capacitance can destabilise the circuit, so you need to be careful, I would use 470uF over 330uF if you have to. Make sure to use good high quality caps.

            Tom I think you meant 470uf over 220uf ?
