    Sony KDL-46W4000 (2 blink code)

Picked this set up for $10 hoping I could fix but was hoping it was the caps haha. Don't have too much knowledge about what to test.

It's an LCD and when powering it on the relay clicks once with a green light and then gives red two blink code and relay clicks again. After it's just a constant two blink.

Photo attached of the PSU & Main board

Read that it's an over current protection error.

Checked the voltage on the pins that connect to the main board and starting from the white wire it's 0.01v, 3.34, 3.38 then the rest is 0v.

Disconnected the inverter board and t-con and it still gives blink code so that rules out them.

Any ideas what I should do now?

There should be a legend printed on the PCB for the connector going from the psu to main board that tells you what each pin should be. I think it's to the right of the connector and not visible in your pic. Can you take a picture of that? Also check fuses on PSU.

Here's the pictures of the connectors.

Could anyone please give me an idea of what the fuses will look like or where they are? I suck i know :P

Are you testing the voltages with the main board cable plugged in? Seems like you are missing some voltages.

Yes, when I tested it all cables were plugged in. Just unplugged for the pictures. Will test voltages again when green light is lit to see what is getting through

We need the Voltage reading of each pin number with its pin name next to each pin readings. The cables must be in place.
The Voltage reading will be when the TV is plugged in but power switch is not activated, then after power switch is activated.
We also need the pictures of the whole back side of the TV so we can see how all the boards are connected together.

I am still trying to locate the diagram of the power supply board (A-1549-338-B), it looks like the PS_ON is present and then drops out.

Did you hear the relay click when you activate the power switch?
BTW, I found the SCH of the power supply on the second file I down load from elektrotanya.

Yes, it clicks once when switch is pressed and after the first set of 2 blinks it clicks again and that's when the above voltages change.

OK, please check the fusible resistor that I circle to see if it shows <1 Ohm, if it does then check the DC Voltage on the filter cap I circle, it should jump up to about 390VDC from 330V before it goes into shutdown, you will have to be real careful on this one since you are working on the primary side..

After looking at the diagram and board for 30 minutes I need help locating the two parts you've circled.

Is the filter cap the largest capacitor?

How do I test a cap and ohms with the multimeter?

I've only ever tested voltage with putting negative on the chassis and positive on the pins.

Last time I tested something with 240v I made a cloud of black smoke haha so I'm a little cautious now.

OK, you can test the resistor and Boosted Voltage on the primary side on the top side of the board, so it is easier, just do not touch anything with your hands.
So check the resistor R6500 first (no power apply), then check the voltage when you hit the switch and watch your meter closely to see if the voltage does jump up >360VDC.

OK, that is good, the PFC Voltage booster is working but it goes into shutdown due to missing 12V power supply which runs on the boosted Voltage.
So is the fusible resistor OK? R6500.
