    Typical current for LED backlight

I was wondering what the typical LED backlight current is.

    Has anybody measured it?

I have a 32" RCA TV where it was designed to run at 350mA.

I've seen 50mA for a smaller 22" Samsung LED backlit set. It varies entirely based on the set...

      Thanks Tom.

350mA seems a lot. I will lower it and observe if it's still bright enough.

Thanks. I lowered it from 350mA to just above 100mA and can't see a difference. No idea why they drive them so hard.

Max brightness. Human visual perception is logarithmic. Doubling current approx doubles luminous flux. But you need almost 10x as much flux to perceive double the light.
