    Changed all 6 inverter transformers and now the set works fine. Evidently the ring tester could not find the problem child transformer. Thanks for all the responses.

        What kind of ringer did you get? The transformers all show the same result?

            Hey Budm. I used the blue ring tester with the same result on each transformer.

                        The set has reverted back to its old ways according to the customer. I picked it up and have been watching it since 8 am this morning. It has not acted up yet. This is going to be a dog to trace. Definitely need more suggestions on this one. Thanks.

                            Hello I have a Emerson research clock radio model CKS3516C and the transformer went out on it ,the label on the clock radio says 120VAC 6 watt backup battery DC 3v CR2430. the numbers on the transformer ST3591C-13SEN which I can't find anywhere for it. Can anyone please tell me the AC output voltage. Thanks

                            Hello!

                            I'm looking at an original Xbox PSU: Foxlink ftps-0002 rev. B. The 12 V output is too low, and the 5 V output is too (?) high. Unfortunately I don't have an oscilloscope but only a DMM for diagnosis.

                            Measured voltages with no load:

                            After rectifier diodes
                            12V: 6.17 V
                            5V: 5.67 V

                            Secondary transformer pins AC measurement (really don't know if this says anything)
                            12V: 2-2.5 V
                            5V: 1.04 V


                            I also have another (working) Xbox psu from Delta. The same measures there, in order, being: 10.79,...

                            I just got this tv today and it appeared to have no backlight on. After taking off the rear cover and checking again in the dark I can see that MAYBE one quadrant is lit.. But still it's quite dim. I was going to check the LEDs with my tester, and I found LED 1 and LED 2 + pins on the wire from the inverter, but I couldn't identify a ground. Nonetheless I tried using a mounting screw on the inverter board and also the chassis as ground but regardless my tester reads 300 which is what it reads when there is no voltage draw.

                            I don't know how exactly to test the inverter itself. Is it...

                            i would like to post an interesting topic regarding 3-phase stepdown transformer which we suspect to cause an overcurrent (138A) which resulted to power tripped off of the HV power supply (80KV output).


                            Problem statement: Power tripped Off

                            Initial Problem: Found 2 IGBT and 2 rectifier diodes shorted (burnt).

                            Action Done:
                            1) Replaced the faulty parts with good spare.
                            2) Measured impedance of the 3phase input lines and found that L2 to L3 has 23.3ohm while other pairs are 51Kohm. This pins will...
