Ahh right, thanks tw2005, I just set email notifications of when someone replies to a thread i have started.

Anyway, two panasonics have come up on ebay from the same seller with broken screens

TX-P50X20B and TX-P42G15B, would these have the same or compatible boards in i require ?

no, the x20 may have components the same but uses sc/sd/su boards. yours is all in one SN. Just because the screen is cracked, does not mean those SC boards are good and I find often the buffer boards (SD) are blown from TVs with cracked screens that have been powered on.

Done any deeper fault finding on the board?

quick testing with components still soldered to board:-
D451 - shorted both directions - diode test function on multimeter
          D441 - OK
          IC771 - appears ok
          D503 - shorted
          D536 - OK
          D522 ok
          D534 ok
          Q701 ok
          D701 shorted

Plus the three pther FETS shorted.

I think this is uneconomical to repair

well the parts are cheap to get but it could be a mine field. D701 shorted most likely will be Q702 shorted and that puts ic773 most likely short between vcc-gnd and if you look at the cct these drive q661.

Hi been were you are with one of these. the parts are not expensive less than £15.00 most you can get over here in uk (eBay all SMD parts on here ) the bigger parts if you can wait I buy from China (www.utsource.net) if you order on line they will be with you in about 10-12 days. I buy in bulk just had some parts today ordered on the 8/1/15. There are some posts that are tagged to a TW thread that will be of help to you, showing the parts that I replaced to fix my TNPA 5066 board, It was not all plain sailing as you will read but could be of help.
