I this case, there is no short or anything like that in the PS / LED driver, so fix that what you know is broken (the caps). I'd be changing those 3 caps C523, 524 and 525 and see if that problem went away. Caps are cheap.

Back to the X602 connector. There should be something like 30V to 70V there. Try to measure that again with both meter leads on those 2 pins. Then try the same thing again with the connector unplugged. What does the back light do when you turn on the tv? Does it come on for a brief period and turn off, or is it off all the time? Another idea is that the backlight cable is shorted out to the chassis.

btw... 36$ buys a new power supply / led driver board.

What is the TV doing now? Does it turn on? Is there something on the LCD and sound, but no backlight? Is the backlight trying to come on, flickering or something? If you have a good board and you get something on the LCD itself and sound, then there is only 2 more things. Either a LED wiring harness problem or a LED has burnt out. But I asked you questions already on my last post, I didn't get any answer for.

maybe double check your solder joints on your new caps.

I have the same model tv and had the same problem. I replaced all of the caps on the led driver side of the power board and the tv now works well.

                            Thanks this thread helped me.

Did you replace every single capacitor?

I replaced only the 3 100v caps.(C524,C525,C523) in my grandfather's tv. It lasted 3 weeks before going right back to no leds, with sound playing.

It lasted a week just taking the tv apart, unplugging the led cable and putting it back together the first time(evil tv.)

Anyone have any clue to the actual issue that all these tv's seem to inevitably face?..(seems quite common sadly..) and "nomadder I'd have to wager against your fix lasting too terribly long sadly...(happy to be wrong though!)

Pretty obvious they are designed to fail.... overheating seems a "large" concern.

..grandfather wanted me to order a new power board. not worth his money imo.

Capacitors are not equal... there are good ones and there are bad ones. We don't know what brand, what series and what temperature rating he put in. If he had replaced them with a generic capacitor that is only good for 85C, 3 weeks sounds about right!

Kinda assuming that was aimed at me:
                                    "Nippon Chemi-Con Hi Temp 105°C
47uF 100 volt 20% radial leaded electrolytic capacitors."

                                    Were those a terrible choice?
Idk, there's not much info on this tv on the net.. only people replacing caps/whole power supply with the problem still persisting that I can find... thoughts?

Maybe make your own tread, put in some hi res pictures of your boards, describe exactly what your TV is doing or not doing, provide measurements with pin out on the connector that goes from the PSU to the main board, service manual etc.

That will wake more interest in things. Since your TV isn't working anymore, we have to start again at square one.

have exact same tv - have apart like yours. can set be turned on without lcd screen attached ? so that the backlight leds come on by themselves ? Or are you applying 50 VDC to X602 to light LEDS ??? thanks

Hello, I have a strange issue with a laptop that I'm working on fixing up for a friend of mine, and it appears as though the LCD backlight control is not reliable. The LCD backlight flickers sometimes with inconsistent brightness. The controls are no better.. when I go 1/3 of the way in the brightness controls it will get bright but flicker quite obviously, and when I go all the way to what SHOULD be full brightness, it becomes darker. The flickering is less severe at lower brightness, but more severe at higher. the backlight will literally flicker on and off when I set it to the lowest brightness...

                                            Hello All,

My Samsung LE52B620 started to have backlight flickering about a year ago, it would only last for about 10 mins and then the backlight would stay on.

about a month ago the backlight flickering is constant and does not stop.

I think it's a problem with the power supply board (BN44-00267b) or maybe the backlight is dying?

I checked and all the caps look to be fine.

I do not believe it is a problem with the mainboard, since I unplugged it from the power supply and the backlight came out but still flickers.

this tv is throwing me for a loop. do samsung tvs no longer have the backlight self test feature built into the power supply?
i tested the backlight with my LED tester and it lights up both strips. one of them reads 100v and the other reads 63.7v.
unplugged mainboard from power supply but left backlight plugged in, and then plugged psu wall power in. expected to see backlights light up but see nothing.
according to how ive diagnosed in the past, this would almost always be a bad power supply. replacement power supply was cheap like 20$ from ebay. but still i get not even...

Hi. Could anyone on the forum help me find the cause of the problem?
The board is LA-B111P Rev:1A comes from Lenovo Y50-70.

I have a identified the damaged R205 resistor, and connect a jump wire over it So it restores the backlight but causing strange problems

                                            1. With Battery ONLY plugged in laptop works fine
2 .With Charger ONLY plugged in laptop works fine as well

                                            3. Connecting both battery and charger at the same time shows a strange flickering screen. The flickering is not constant, it is completely random (and I think it depends on the load

This TV has been on the wall in our reception area for around 10 years and the other day the backlight failed. You could see a feint picture so we knew the screen was OK. I took the TV apart to get to the failed backlight and inject voltage in to each half of the LED strips to identify which ones had failed and 4 needed replacing. I ordered a set off of Amazon and they arrived the next day.

On fitting the new LED strips I plugged in the TV was blinded by the light!!

It was only when I partially put it all back together (including the screen) that...
