Hello guys

so i picked up the tv today with solarized images cleaned the lvds cable and reseated which made the tv picture go ten times worse,upon cleaning a second time to the tv would just keep restarting so tried a third time and now everything is ok picture is fine

intermittent fault somewhere or is it just tricky getting the lvds cable right sometimes ?

Could be main board fault-- I would run it for some time before calling it fixed. Not encountered dodgy LVDS on models using the "rigid" cables myself; it's always the flexible ones that are failing.

I had a non-intermittent LE40A656 picture fault, bad T-con board. Mine was a repeated pattern across screen, every other 1/8th of screen was solarised. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...light=le40a656

I've also had bad tabs cause a dark blurry pic but I'd guess that's not what you've got.

its a strange one if i just wiggle the lvds cable going into the tcon the solarized images come back im going to search around to see if i have another spare cable

Try pressing on that black heatsink to see if the same thing happens.

update: change the lvds cable and resoldered on some points in the picture now it does not do nothing now once i wiggle the lvds cable at the moment but ill test it still

While you're at it, worth cleaning the fan as it can make a loud noise sometimes while operating.

question the tcon cover i ripped the silver tape while removing the tcon board which covers up the ribbons does it matter or get some more to replace ?

It is for EMC/EMI compliance. i.e. radio interference. Not a major issue, just try to stick down as much as possible.

Thats the problem it all ripped while trying to remove it
