A friend asked me to fix this TV, originally it wasn't turning on and after ruling out the power supply I figured out it was the main.
So I could get it to turn on with turning off at the wall and then holding menu on the remote and vol- on the tv and turning on at the wall and the tv would turn on and work until powered down again for more than a minute. After more reading it appeared to be a eeprom issue.
So replaced the main board all looked good but the menus and black screens show as white, when a signal is fed into the tv it displayed correctly but the OSD is white the writing can be seen but it was originally black.
For instance if I have no signal on digital tv the no signal message floats around on a white background, if I change the channel when a aerial is plugged in the white turns black briefly before displaying the channel.
The new mainboard does seem to have different components but is the same model number and the remote operates it like the original.
Anyone any ideas on this?
