Hey all!
I have a Samsung PN50C7000YF I picked up after a lightning storm took out the main board (I replaced the main board, and it has worked great ever since!). It's been about a year now, but the other day, the sound started making loud crackling and popping sounds ONLY with digital cable... the analog signals weren't a problem (...so, if I was watching FOX ch.8, it would be normal. If I switched to 8-1, FOX-HD, it made the noise.)
It doesn't affect any other input (HDMI or component).
If I have the tv set for cable, and turn it off, even if on an analog station, it will shut off making the sound... same when turning it on the next time. I don't think it is the cable line, as I have a second plasma running the same way with no problems.
My thoughts is that something came through the cable line and fried something, although I have no picture problems to speak of.
Anyone else had this problem? And does anyone know which board has the audio decoders on it?
Thanks!!!
