Sky Glass Gen 2 No Sound Issue

Hi guys I purchased a second hand sky glass tv last week.

it had no sound so I ordered a tested mainboard from eBay and there is still no sound output.

any ideas what I can check next ?

    thanks

The obvious one is settings on the TV - it might be set up to output audio via optical audio or eARC only. I can disable the sound on my TV by doing that, and with optical out there's no way for the TV to detect the audio isn't working since it's unidirectional data.

I don't know how configuration settings are stored on this model but I'd expect that is on the main board but perhaps it persists settings in some other way.

If the sound output is set to internal:
    - Check the speaker resistance. Should be around 6-8 ohms each. Check the speakers with power off and disconnected from the main board.
    - Check for damage on the speaker wires. Check for shorts from either positive or negative to the chassis ground.
    - Visibly inspect the speakers to make sure they aren't blown somehow (no idea how that could happen... but just in case.)

      Hi tom66

thanks for the reply I have checked the speakers and I get sound through them if I power them from my amp at low volume I also tested them with a volt meter and they test good.

      any other ideas ?

could it be a missing power rail from the power supply ?

      thanks

does it have a headphone socket?
whatis the power amp part number?
        if it'd class-D (D = distortion ) then it could be dead

Let's start with a clear picture of the power supply board, including photos of each of the labels on the power supply connectors. Maybe there is a problem with the amplifier power supply. On some power supplies this is indeed a dedicated output, although it varies from TV to TV.

Can you read the part numbers of these ICs, if you don't know how to do that, take a really clear picture of the ICs that shows the part number

Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	1.86 MB ID:	3876142

Can you also take a picture of the whole back of the TV so we can see where cables go and the general arrangement of boards

Also, please confirm the model number of the TV.
