Re: samsung le32a457 bad cap symtoms but look okay

Did you remove ALL the yellow/brown glue.
I cant see that you got an answer to why, which is, as it ages, and with heat the glue becomes corrosive and as it turns brown conductive rotting traces and shorting out
    components.

    EDIT
Did you replace all the caps budm said - there is a group of 4 to the right of the Big yellow transformer, one of which is the startup cap.

Check over all your soldering and can you post a clear picture of the bottom of the board.

This is what bad glue can do to the board.

How to remove the glue: with great care , not to damage traces or components. It is not easy people have their own favourite tool.
Dental pick, awl, sharpened toothbrush handle (chisel tip or point)
Sometimes the glue can be softened a little with IPA.
Do a bit at a time so you dont loose concentration.

The Trys and Trys to come on could be the startup cap what values are the 4 small ones.
              it is often a 50v 68uf

                the 4 are

                all 105 deg
                470uf 25v
                680uf 25v (35v now fitted)
                680uf 35v
                3300 uf 10v

would it also make the tv turn off

edit - during the off and wont come on , the led can either be off or on

I am sure the small caps do not come with the kit.

                    budm - what kit ?

i looked on ebay and most were 3 or 4 parts , sellers wouldnt say which ones , so i figured i would order all the big ones in the hopes it would replace the faulty one but no lol

Re: samsung le32a457 bad cap symtoms but look okay

My thought would be main board issues. If the power board voltages are ok, then it is probably the main board at fault.

Probably not I have been looking at the back of the boards as it may be a
bad joint or crack in the solder. Best way is to go over it all with a magnifying glass. I felt one or two were a bit iffy but can you have a look at this one.
I recommend removing the old solder and applying fresh.

If a solder joint is sizzling, your soldering iron is probably far too hot.

My favorite method for removing glue is using the canned air upside down to super freeze it first then it chips off easily.

I use an old toothbrush and IPA - most glues will be dissolved by the IPA.
