    I'm stumped. I've marked your photo for D451 to confirm that is what has been removed?

    And D482 checks out ok still?

        thank god for that. I'm tearing my hair out going over a 5081 board trying to work out how the devil this could be because electrically what you said made no sense.

        No need to apologise, glad we can move on.

        I'd really appreciate it if you could make the effort to provide the information I have requested though. helps me and good for repair historyies.

        So we'll get back to this diode shortly.

        Can I have cross referenced the part locations to there part numbers for all the heatsinked parts replaced please.

        eg q661 = RJP63F3A, etc,etc.

        Go to q621 please and resistance that g-c, g-e, c-e and identify what the part number of that is.

          Thanks

          D482 = RFUS20
          Q661 = RJP63F3A
          Q451 = 45G128
          Q401, 402 = DG502LW
          Q421, 422 = RJP43F4A
          IC521= M81737FP

          Q621 = RJP3034
          g-c = 0.78 Mohm
          g-e = 47 Kohm
          c-e = 148Kohm

            Good results for that one.

            thanks, that suggests RJP3034 is a suitable replacement fo 30f125 and RJP43F4A are suitable for DG402RP for they are what is in the 5081 boards.

            Now back to this diode, any chance you have other dead boards from plasma Tvs laying around or is this you're one and only Plasma repair?

                        it's RF071L4S(original), RF101L4S(higher peak) (400V 1A) or something equivalent. super fast recovery diodes

                          RS don't have exact and I don't like the qty you need to buy. Looking at 10GBP for 100

                          thinking http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/rectif...iodes/8075336/

                          Any TV shop repairing panasonic SC boards should have some on hand or a fellow UK Badcapper may be able to salvage from from a scrap board which is where I was heading hoping you tinkered abit and had some boards around.

                          I'm very confident this is all stopping this from working from my 5081 experiences. i forgot to replace this same diode and exact symptoms you now have.

                            Maybe tom will know whoes likely to stock these in the uk not sure about cpc? or wiltsgrove electronics? in birmingham also Watford Tv have a ebay shop may have contact details on there page if not i would send them a message. I have just had a quick look in my spare boards pile/boxes but havnt any plasma tv boards at all only lcd/led boards.

                              GTV.356 ST ALBANS ROAD, WATFORD, WATFORD, HERTFORDSHIRE, WD24 6PQ,TEL 05601264174

                              Panasonic specialist, only deals with OEM parts so it'll cost.

                              This also proves getting kits can be a trap, neither GTV or OHM Supplies list D451 so you would have ended here anyway. Little annoyed I did not spot this deficiency as I've had to replace those in half of the 5081 boards I've fixed.

                              This is the panasonic number for that part

                                  your call, seems a lot of money for only 1 part, what if I'm wrong?

                                            I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

                                            Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

                                            I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

                                            The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                                            With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                                            Hi all!

                                            I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

                                            I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                                            Hi all,

                                            TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

                                            I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

                                            Panasonic Plasma TH-50PZ85U No screen No blinks on red power light

                                            Hello,

                                            Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                            Model number is TH-50PZ85U

                                            Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

                                            Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.

                                            I also hear a few clicks.

                                            I also think my parents said there was a thunderstorm and the TV failed after that.

                                            Section 6 in the service manual talks about power and no screen,...

                                            Desoldering gun station modified to use a 18 volt @ 20 amp switching power supply
                                            by sam_sam_sam
                                            I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

                                            One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
