LG 42PQ3000 Plasma TV Not Starting (clicking relay)

    Hello all

I've got a LG 42" plasma TV (42PQ3000) that won't start. Relay clicks for about 30 seconds with a red flashing standby light. I've isolated the X & Z sus boards with the same problem. Upon closer inspection I noticed a fried diode (highlighted in red) which I removed for identification (1N4007). Is it likely the IC (W6252) beside the dead diode on the heat sink is also faulty and is there and easy way of testing with a multimeter. Thanks for the help.

I got the exact same problem but my diode is not the problem....
Im going to test the 22 Ohm resistors this afternoon see if they are ok.

Btw my led is not flashing , it stays on but relais keeps clicking.
I only repair Panasonic plasma tv's! Currently owning a TX-P55VT50 and still searching for a ZT60!

Yes I tested the 2 x 22 Ohm resistors at the top of the board and they tested ok.

Start checking if the standby rail, 17V, Vs and Va are working.

          Hi Tom

Thanks for the help again. I'm getting 5v on the standby pin, getting no power at all on both the 17v pins when switched on. Can't see the VA and VS test points, can only see the VA and VS adjusters ?

          thanks

Check Vs/Va at connectors to Y-sus...
Check all fuses on PSU board.

All 3 fuses on PSU good, fuse on Y-Sus good. No voltage at all on both VS and VA on the Y-SUS connection when switched on.

              thanks

Check the control signals from the main board then, see if it's sending the turn on command (VS ON, RL ON, M5V ON etc)

The bouncing STBY 5V should be investigated.

Hi. I know this is an old post but I seem to be having the same problem on the abovementioned model.

On power on the loud clicks are very noticable and the LED area around the power button just flicks red this eventually dies completely after a minute or so and just seems unresponsive after that (until powered off for a few minutes), then it's back to the clicking...

I don't want to spend money on a new (or even refurbished power board) if that will not solve the problem and I don't mind replacing certain components on the board, if I'm given some help in doing so. My soldering skills are decent enough as I've replaced small IC's and Caps etc on boards before but alas, the only equipment I have is a multimeter and Soldering iron.

Any help would be much appreciated.... as the learning would also be beneficial in learning a little more on electronics...

                      cheers,

                      Marty (Ireland)

                        by beetle1303
I gotten a Carver CM-1090 amplifier from a friend who has kept it in storage for decades. Opened it up, thick layer of dust cumulated everywhere. Vacuumed it semi-cleaned, and blown off as much as possible the remaining dust. This is a 220V version.

On initial powered up with nothing connected - it works with all the lights and button indicator lit up as pressed, etc. I then powered off, connected a CD player into the CD RCA input and powered it on. It seemed to work for a short while and when I turned the volume up and down to see the the VUs works, the power started to clicked off...

                        Hi everyone,

I require some help with my TV. The TV standby light blicks on and off with a clicking sound (relay?) from the back. After I opened up the TV, I set about troubleshooting by unplugging the boards to try and isolate the problem. My troubleshooting suggests that the logic board is causing the issue, but it could entirely be the YSUS board which is only activated once the logic board is connected.

I have recorded a video which I thought would be an easier way to explain the problem and show the boards at the same time.

I would like to try and identify...

                        Hello guys
Because the unit is old (but only occasionally used) the loudness button causes some noise due to bad contact,
sprays did not work, so i decided to solder the pins that it connects on the pcb at the on (loudness on) position
i did that and it worked fine, i know from the bottom of my heart that the switch connects 2 pins and also d/c other 2 pins
on every position it have (6 pin switch), so i was curious what would happen if i clicked the switch off while the pins are soldered at on (so basiclly on and off at the same time), when i did so the sound is gone, nothing...

                        9V relay temperature 40C
                        by jm1234
Hi, I'm seeing one 9V relay having temperature 40C on its 9V (primary) side. Does that seem right? I switched 2 relays on that board and the temperature was the same (on the same position), so I'm sure it's not a faulty relay. I measured voltage on that relay and it was 9.5V DC, so that looks good. I don't see any other relay on that board having that kind of temperature and they have 9V on them too.
I thought maybe the transistor that is switching this relay keeps switching on/off, so I also checked for AC and there was almost none: 0.3V using mV range. No steady frequency was shown, but...

                        Hi everyone!
I have this board that suddenly stopped supplying power to an output that drives an interchanger cleaner motor.
I checked while the board was in place with all wires attached and there's no AC voltage on the corresponding plug X5
This X5 is driven by fuse F8 (tested OK) which comes from the second orange relay
To make sure there are no charcoaled contacts inside the relay, I got a 24VDC power supply and got it ready to manually power up the coil side of these relays.
I respected the polarity, positive to cathode of protecting diode
                        So provided all...
