There is a -Vy and Vsc module. The -Vy module should be marked. Yes it's one of those stand-up board things which has lots of other parts on it.

Ok...let me remove the board and I'll get it off and get some pics of it...

Ok, worth checking a few things:
              - D22/D23 for shorts
              - C20 solder joints look dodgy
              - Q20 for shorts
              - VR20, between outer two terminals, what do you measure on 200kohm range?

                      Sorry for missing your post.
Nothing obvious there, I'm afraid. Nothing shorted.
Perhaps try replacing the IC "U20"...

Is there any way of testing it?

Ok...I finally got this little chip off the board...It has 200D6 PYIC printed on it.
That was a royal pain to get off so I can imagine what it will be like putting it back on..

Would appear to be this part:
                                  https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...f150efe308.pdf

Available from Digikey, 1-off for $1.10 + shipping:
                                  http://www.digikey.com/product-detai...OSCT-ND/644040

May be worthwhile to replace the output capacitors (200V/400V ones) as they may also be suspect. What values are they?

                                  For future reference, to remove:
                                  - I remove these types of surface mount chips by flooding both sides with solder, then alternating the soldering iron between sides.
                                  - I lift the device off with tweezers.

Putting it on is pretty easy...
                                  - Line up the pin 1 marker with the chip
                                  - Solder one pin to tack it to the board. Apply a little heat to the pin and move the chip until it is aligned.
                                  - Solder the opposite corner, check all is aligned, then solder each pin individually.
                                  - Flux can help. Check afterwards for bridges then remove with flux and soldering iron, or solder wick and a soldering iron.

Yes sir, that appears to be the part...
I will get that on order...
The mosfets are on there way and should be here by Friday...

When you say "pin 1 marker", what am I looking for?

To clarify, the caps we are talking about are the three, 400v/10uf /U3A/105*C that are on the module,is that correct?

Those capacitors are them, yeah. What is the diameter and height of them, approximately?

There's usually an indent or a small dot sunk into the packaging of the device. The closest pin to this is pin 1. If there is no indent, then pin 1 faces the bottom left of the device when the half-moon shape is on the left hand side of the device and it's facing up. Also you can usually read the part number this way around.

Also maybe worth replacing the 35V cap too... it won't be expensive.

Looks like the caps are 10mm x 17.5mm

                                          the 35v is 6.3 x 11...

There is a small bar like indention on the face where the numbers are on the chip

Hello, I'm new to the group and to trying to repair a LCD TV. During the past few years, I've been collecting/repairing/restoring vintage personal computers (Commodore, Apple II, Atari, TRS-80, Texas Instruments, and Timex Sinclair). This has been my retirement hobby. Now I've gotten interested in trying to repair a LCD TV that I have and used regularly when working on vintage computers.

The LCD I'm working on is a Insignia NS-LCD019. I've downloaded the service manual that I could find, but it must be a different revision since not too many items in the service manual match the TV...

I Am Looking For Some Direction, Or Suggestions On Where I Should Focus My Attention. I Have A 59 Inch Samsung Plazma Tv. The Tv Was Working Decently, Maybe Once In A Blue Moon, I Had To Unplug And Plug It Back In, As The Tv Would Just Shut Down And The Standby LED Light Would Come On And Stay On. If You Tried To Turn The Set Back On, The LED Standby Light Would Blink Rapidly Until You Released The Remote Button. Too Fast For Flash Codes. Once Plugged Back In, The Set Would Work Fine, Sometimes For Months. I Took The Back Off Of It, As The Was Some Distorted Pixels On The Right Side About 1/2...

Insignia NS-LCD19-09 no standby LED; (new problem)

Having a new problem with the 19" Insignia that I modified with one of my automatic turn on circuits. That is now completely disconnected so that is not the issue. I was doing some modifications on that circuitry and managed to short something out on the underside of the power board.
Actually found and bought the service manual (who knew it was even available?!) which brought me to the High Voltage Startup Circuit controller chip.
Looking up that chip number- LD7575APS brought me to the attached datasheet. I have marked my voltage readings on the schematic sheet (open in new...

Eventually discovered a burn mark near lower corner of LCD. Here is a summary
                                            • Backlight on, no image
                                            • Disconnect right buffer board (view from front), left side display comes on
                                            • Masked off pin 7+8 (both ~12,5v on both left and right buffer board) from t-con to right buffer board (view from front) display works but have some lines
                                            • Buffer board is pretty simple
Removed the front bezel to examine edge of the glass. Found burn mark on lower right (view from front). Plastic bezel covering the burn mark region shows heat signature on the inside surface facing the LCD panel. Last 2 pics. Bright...

                                            Insignia NS-32L430A11 backlight issue

I have a weird backlight issue on the above Insignia Plasma that I am coming up empty on researching.

The display is darker on the left than on the right side of the screen. It uses 4 U shaped plasma tubes. I have had it apart deep enough to tell you that the tubes are bright as they should be at the electrode ends but dim as they get to and go around the bend.

Since it is all 4 tubes it seems like it would be an inverter/backlight board but obviously can't be a blown up component as it does still somewhat work. I'm thinking low voltage but no idea where to go beyond...
