    Panasonic TH-42PZ8E Blinking 10 times

    Hi ,

I got a TH-42PZ8E plasma , bought it with the symptom that it was blinking 6 times.
When i got home and plugged it in i got 10 blinks.
Removed the back of the tv and found a HUGE amount of dust , some capacitors were not even visible haha! Removed all the dust but it does not change the blinking pattern.
The fans are not spinning and the led's on the SC/SS board are off.

Service manual says its the A board?

The power board model nr : ETX2MM702MF
All caps look fine! Removing the SC20 cable does not change the blinking pattern.

Any idea what to do now? Where to measure?

search MC201,MC301 modules. Could be the common 1uf 50v ceramic cap on those. If you have freeze spray or invert can of air and trying chilling those and then turn on Tv and see if it fires. Theres a good video by Norcal715

Thx , will try that right now! Is it ok to spray the whole print? ( The small 301/201 )

I did it with iPhones but this is different haha

Have a look at the video first, I've never tried it but I have had 2 blink and just replaced the cap. I think also there's another 10 blink issue, maybe thermal fuse in a transformer but I think the other guys will probably have more info on that.

I've done 7 or 8 of these (lost count...) and all of them it was just the cap that needed replacement.

Re: Panasonic TH-42PZ8E Blinking 10 times

              I replaced just the caps! I used normal capacitors ( 1uf/100v + 1uf/50v ).
Red light stayed on and i used the remote to turn it on….

Green led was blinking , screen came on and went from no signal to white snow and then it turned off with a blinking red light ( 11 times ).

              Did i do something wrong?

Good to hear, another one saved from the dump.
I made the same mistake before. The fans should start spinning before the panel lights up.

                      Got a question though.

The tv was FULL with dust , it was so much dust that i only saw the cooling of the SC board , rest was "gone".
Is it wise to remove the front cover and clean between the glass and the plasma screen? To make it as good as new….

Don't think so, unless there is dust under there, it's a difficult job to do.

Best way to tell if the glass and panel need cleaning is have some text on the screen--say film titles on black background, then look at the screen at an angle...

If there's a nice light halo round the text--the glass has smut/dust/smoke-stains and needs cleaning.

Big PITA to do with all the stuff that needs to come out/off to remove the panel, I did a PX70 recently, took me about an hour to do, and there's always the risk of panel damage Or the much bigger risk of a piece of dust settling between the panel and glass during re-assembly!

IF you do go ahead, Use a good quality glass-cleaner--But Do NOT spray onto the panel, Spray lightly on a fresh clean cloth and use that, Same for the inside of the 'implosion' glass.....

I learnt the hard way, the glass has an anti glare coating and I tried polishing a scratch horrified when I went through the coating, not good,

Even a moist cloth and paper towel can help, I use a mild glass cleaner.

                                    Hello there,

Google led me again to badcaps when trying to troubleshoot a dying Plasma that is sitting at my uncle's roughly 550 km from where I am. It's an old G20 from 2010 or so, that isn't being actively used so you can consider the panel "not too sollicitated".

Symptoms: TV starts, works for 5-10 minutes, then screen turns black and safety kicks in and spits a 13-blink code with the red LED. Once this code kicks in, the TV will not display any image anymore. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it again, it'll work then fail a few minutes later.
                                    ...

I know the 6 blinks are a backlighting issue, but when I pulled off the back cover and turn it on, the is a white flash from with the panel then I hear what sounds like a relay trip and the TV goes into the 6 blinking light code. Before I pull all the electronics off and checking the individual strips, there is a on the power board, a harness with 4 wires that run thru the panel, which are what I believe are the LED lines, but Im not a tech so no clue. Wires read OUT 1 + & - and OUT 2 + & - My first inclination was to remove the power board and use my LED tester and go to each + &...

Asus rog strix g1614jv-Is96 freezes at random times and blinking charging light

I have the i9 version. I have tried disabling intel and Nvidia graphics in the device manager.
The laptop is just out of warranty.
The laptop continues to freeze randomly with the blinking amber charging light.
What could be possibly wrong with it?
I have also disable armoury crate in bios.
