Hi, the tv itself will turn on ans show an image on screen but turns itself off after around 1-2 seconds and the standby light starts to flash at around 1 to 1.5 second intervals.....any ideas?
"Any ideas" were not physic, we need to get the basic's first when the tv shuts off shine a torch on to the screen and see if you can see any type of image to see if the back light is shutting down, we will need pictures off all of the boards, and most importantly do you have a multimeter ?

I have reset the TV using the P+ v- buttons on the tv and the green power light stays on but the picture goes off after a couple of seconds but I still have sound ?
That indicates a backlight protection fault (equivalent to "2 seconds to black")
After 5 or 10 backlight failures (light up then go out due to fault) the TV will "lock out" until reset (using the appropriate keys.)

Defective lamp socket, making lamp errors
Affected Serial Number Range 902011112 - 907xxxxxx
try to get into the adjustment mode and look at the lamp error
You could also look at the inverter board and the sockets
Often you could see that its slightly burnt
Often second or third from the top
i've stripped off the inverter board and there are three points where it looks like its burnt on the sockets ( No. 2 , 3 , 7) can these be repaired?
Thanks
No, two way to fix it.
Change 18 sockets or as I have seen in another forum
use a coppar wire wraped around the tube.
Sometimes the inverter is so badly burnt, so you even
had to change it, to make a good contact.
Dont forget to reset the lamp error in the service menu.
