I've been having trouble with a TV I bought in a pawn shop.
When I turn the TV on after it's been off for a while, there is a lot of colored static. This static is mostly red, and seems to be individual pixel flashing. It also occurs mostly in the right side of the screen. This static goes away after a couple of minutes.
Something else that's incredibly annoying is that when viewing a mostly white image, such as when using the TV as a computer monitor surfing the internet, or even watching a movie or playing a video game with a lot of white (in a snowy field, for example), the image is incredibly poor. Black text on a white background seems to have a halo,as well as white bars that extend to the left and right of a line of text.
A third problem is after the TV has been on for about 3 hours, it'll turn itself off and then back on again. The tv will then remain on for about 5 minutes before power cycling again.
my contrast is set at 60/100, and brightness is set at 50/100.
I've already taken the tv apart, and inspected the capacitors visually. None of them appear to be bad, and I've already replaced the X-main board, with no improvement.
I have access to a multimeter, and oscilloscope. what else can I do?
thanks a ton for your help
