    Samsung LE37A656A1F

Hi I have a Samsung LE37A656A1F. The problem is with the colours or no colour. I have attached some samples of the problem. Hopefully someone can help.

The whiteness is more likely a faulty gamma chip.

YES, if its an AUO Optronics made panel its almost always the AS-15 G U F ect. chip on the T-con.

If you are good at SMD soldering its a pretty simple task.

Take the panel apart and snap photo's of all the boards, also the T-con will be located at the top or bottom middle of the TV and usually covered by a metal shroud. SOME panels do not have a T-con as they are intergrated into the mainboard or TFT driver boards that are permanently attached to eh LCD TFT display and cannot be repaired.

I have removed the t-con board. The chip that I think is the
Sg-15 has no writing, it does look a bit burnt. The T-con board is a t370hw02 v6 does anyone know the exact AS-15 chip number for this board ie G U or F etc

                Re: Samsung LE37A656A1F

They are not identical but they can be used to replace each other on AU Optronics boards. AS15-F was used to replace AS15-U on a Sony board of mine, without issue (AUO 37" 720p panel.)

To test your board you will need a digital multimeter.

Board must be installed in TV and fully connected. Make sure to screw it down. Play a video or still image on the screen.

Then in the top right corner of the board you will see a set of points VGAMA1, VGAMA2...

Test each of these points (usually there are 18 or 22) and report back the voltage on each point with the number of the point..

                For example:
                VGAMA1 ... 1.03V
                VGAMA2 ... 2.45V
                ...

I recommend using ChipQuik to aid in the removal of the old chip if it turns out to be faulty. It made the one i did a couple of weeks ago very easy.

I was going to order ChipQuik looking for a uk supplier. Last time I removed a chip like this I used hot air gun. The ChipQuik looks a lot easier.

The chip is definitely bad (the VGAMA are wrong) so replacing it should be all that's needed.
Personally I prefer a hot air gun for removing the chip.

Hallo i got a same problem with my samsung LCD.

                          My T-con Board is T370HW02 V6

                          Backlight Ok, Powersply OK,
Igot Sound but the picture is Black with coulured stripes.

I have checked the VGAMA Voltage:

                          VGAMA1. 15.2v
                          VGAMA2. 15.2v
                          VGAMA3. 10.69v
                          VGAMA4. 10.00v
                          VGAMA5. 9.69v
                          VGAMA6. 7.57v
                          VGAMA7. 7.50v
                          VGAMA8. 6.66v
                          VGAMA9. 6.60v
                          VGAMA10. 10.45v
                          VGAMA11. 4.65v
                          VGAMA12. 4.00v
                          VGAMA13. 0.2v
                          VGAMA14. 0.2v

                          Is the the AS15-F broken?

                          Thx for your help.

Yes, bad AS15-F. Replacing it should fix the problem.

Not saying that your Gamma chip is good--with those voltages--

But That image of half a black panel, the rest with vertical lines looks more like the panel itself...

Does disconnecting one then the other of the screen-tabs from the T-Con (While off) and trying again give say half a good picture....?
