    Hi Tom,

Or am I going over kill with the Cap? I have one that I will reuse for CP1, so just need one more do I need 10v or 25v ? If you can help with the fitting advice great if not can you recommend another one from CPC?

Hi,The fuse and caps arrived, the fuse is alot smaller but I should be able to solder it in, the caps are way to big, I have an old PSU that I have removed some caps from the original one measured out of circuit with an ESR meter is 18.94uf. The ones from the old PSU are 11.62uf measured out of circuit. Will that be OK or do I need closer value.

      Thank you

For the caps, you could solder some leads to them, or mount them diagonally along the board.
I would never reuse electrolytic capacitors from an old power supply due to the principle of voltage forming, it can lead to early failure.

          Hi Tom,

OK i will use the new ones, I did buy 16v and 25v, the new caps you say are tantalums and I have be careful with polarity I see they have a band one end so I guess that is the + end, but how do I know which pad on the Tcon to solder the + terminal to? I am going to replace CP3 with one of the tantalum caps as there is room to solder it with wires.

          Thank you

                Hi Tom,

OK will do, but just a thought one of the caps fails when I use my ESR meter with it removed from the PCB, the other gives a reading of 18.54uf, ESR 0.02ohms. I have found on ebay YAGEO surface mount caps, 22uf 16volt, would they be better suited to replace the pair from the TCON or replace the one that indicates 18.54uf and one new 22uf 16volt one? or the ones I have that need to be in correct orientation?

                  Hi Tom,

Picture of the 16v 22uf cap, I have a 35v 22uf one as well. Or shall I do what I suggested in last post?

                  Thank you

                    That is quite big.
Can you link to the YAGEO ones?

Or I have a TCON from another make and model of TV that I could remove caps from assuming they are the correct value?

                          Hi Tom,

I fitted the two caps and replaced the fuse and I get a picture but see the attachments as it looks awful.

Hmm. Looks like something else on that T-con is fried also.

Any Vestel or Philips remote will work.
You WILL need a remote to access it.

OK Would it not be easier to just replace the TCON? or do you just think it is a setting issue? if so what settings an I looking at or adjusting
