    Pvision EPM-4200B

Hi. I have a Pvision EPM-4200B Plasma Monitor. The monitor switches on and off again after a few seconds. No picture appears on the monitor. I opened the monitor and found inside that it uses a LG screen. I found two 680uF/250V capacitors that are swollen on the ZSUS board (LG part number 6871QZH030B). I also found shorts between the outputs of the module on the YSUS board (LG part number 6871QYH027B ) and GND. So that module is faulty. I did not find any shorts on the ZSUS board. I then completely disconnected the YSUS and ZSUS boards from the rest of the monitor and measured the VS and VA outputs from the power supply. The VA voltage was correct according to the label attached to the screen, but the VS voltage was 165V instead of 190V. I can get a new YSUS board at a not too bad price and then replace the two swollen capacitors on the ZSUS board with capacitors from the faulty YSYS board. They have the same values and should work. My question is about the VS voltage that is lower than what it should be. Does that mean that there is a fault with the power supply as well or is the voltage lower because the YSUS and ZSUS boards are disconnected and therefore the VS output is not driving anything?

    Re: Pvision EPM-4200B

Hi Neelix, I know this is an old post, searched for Pvision, and came up with your post, I see you're also a Cape Town Booitjie (PROVINCE! ).

I don't know if you still visit Badcaps, so in a long shot..

I'm looking for factory reset for a Pvision PLi32TG if you maybe came across it in the attempt to repair your set.

2017, don't see many plasma's anymore (thankfully). Sorry couldn't comment on your repair. You either got it out, or RNR'd it?

    Mike.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

      Assuming...

Hi, this is my personal laptop, which the original board (lets call it Board A) blew up PU8700 (TPS51486), making a hole on the board, i had left the laptop at my desk one day with the battery fully charged and didn't touch it for a week, but when i tried to turn it on it didn't
Thought the battery was dead, so i plugged in the charger then tried to power on, the power LED blinked once, charged LED still orange, unplugged the charger, plugged in again and I noticed the "magic smoke" smell, so i unplugged the charger, removed the back cover and saw the blown IC (the "magic...

TCL 55S425 few horizontal lines, potential failure on both side of panel/buffer board
      by howardc64
All left and right refers to looking from rear of TV (or looking from front with TV upside down)
      • TV came with vertical bars and no image. Found faulty TVS on left buffer board. Also replaced T-Con (may have damaged the original while hot air removing components, board has slight warp) and have full image but few horizontal lines on the screen. Some of the lines appears to be 2 pixel tall while others are 1 pixel tall.
      • Disconnecting left and right buffer board potentially reveals problems on both sides with different signals (unless this T-Con require jumper like Samsung FB_TRDY1&3) Fault

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair
      by momaka
Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...
