hey all!
I have been sitting on this one for almost 5 months now, I finally have had more time to sit and deal with this one.
Symptoms:
Panel turns on, CCFLS are super dim with no input, no ODS or display at all.
Once the panel gets an active signal, the screen brightens up, audio can be heard, Still no OSD or display.
If left on for more then 10 min, faint vertical lines can be seen.
Troubleshooting:
Disconnected the Main from the PS, CCFLS came on bright as could be.
Disconnected the LVDS from the T-con to the Main, no change.
Disconnected the TFT buffers from the T-con both left and right and one at a time, no change.
checked T-con fuse, was 12.5v both sides.
Strange anomalies:
When the LVDS was disconnected from the T-con the Panel appeared to be dimming in sync with the movie I was using to test. For example Batman Dark Knight Rises. If you leave the movie running on the start/scene selection screen it pans through different scenes of the movie and while transitioning between scenes the screen would dim and when the new scene would pop up the screen would lighten up again.
Does the Mainboard control CCFL like that to dim in dark scenes to help with dark levels? I have never noticed this before on working panel I might try it to see.
I am leaning towards bad T-con as the voltages were really low on the pins I checked. But could this be a bad panel too?
