OK, try isolating DM808, DM809, DM810 (near the bottom of the power board), see if the short disappears. You can chop one leg on each mid way, so you can solder it back together later if necessary.

The best you might be able to do is cut the leads, unscrew the device, and pull it out. Remove the leads using your iron. Installation will be a right pain... but you might be able to do it with a pair of needle nose plyers.

Bingo... last one I would have expected too! I think from the design you can temporarily run the TV without it. See if it works. Then replace it.

Awesome! Now, go and replace the diode, don't watch the TV for a few days without the diode.
I help people because it's rewarding to keep good TVs out of the trash. Plasma is a dead technology, but there's nothing commercially available that can replace it, save from OLED... and that's far too expensive and only available in curved 55". I had this exact problem crop up last week in our Samsung PN58B860. Thanks to the troubleshooting help from this forum, I was able to determine that the main board had failed. I got a replacement in, and our TV again works great! Thanks to you all!Comment

Motherboard PU551LA Ver 2 with Intel i5 4210U
I bought the motherboard as faulty to replace a similar one not repairable because it was completely shorted.
3V EC was shorted to ground because of EC chip. IT8585E FXA replaced with IT8585E FXS. Motherboard now works and I am able to recharge the battery, install Windows and update BIOS from Ver 207 to 210 with EZ Flash, but it has the following problem: Every time I power off the laptop with power switch or with Windows shutdown the laptop apparently turns off, but the power LED remains on and it's not possible to restart the laptop.... -

I bought this from eBay, from a wallpapering shop. £650 in 2020 which was a good price considering it's a gaming laptop. Physically it's in perfect shape, apart from the hinge mounts on the palmrest failing in the time I've had it (I have a new palmrest for it). I got macbook pro A1989 that has sleep wake failure..always restart when put in sleep mode or close the lid..if i shut down and close the lid there would be no problem at all.. already reinstall the mac os but still has the same problem even restore with DFU mode.
and for macbook pro A1707, this one always restart when i try to shut down..always restart when put in sleep mode.

I have an issue with laptop dell latitude e5490 that auto restart when arrive at certain point in loading windows.
Board model is dm70 la-f401p rev:1.0 2017-09-20.
At first, the issue is sometime ssd sata 2.5 not detected. i already try another cable, at certain point, it ok using old cable (i mean sata cable here).
After a few days test, is seems ok.
Days later, another issue come, that is auto restart when certain point in loading windows. i already test another ssd, another ram, another sata ribbon, still same.... -
Hi everyone,
got an Acer Helios 500 Laptop (PH517-51) for diagnosing with a strange issue:
The laptop runs for a while (1-2 hours, sometimes less) and then suddenly shuts completely off, like someone pulled the power cord and restarts immediately after on its own.
If this happened once, then the laptop only runs for a few minutes until restart.
This happens regardless while staying in windows or uefi or in a linux environment.
At first I thought of a normal overheating issue, but as I monitored temps with HWInfo64, nothing seems very hot.
