Thought I would start a thread on this TV
has standby light
when i press on button, the screen remains dark but i can hear samsung boot up music
once music completes the standy light just flashes red and i cannot see any code being produced
i hold torch to screen and i cannot see a picture
remove back cover and i think i can see a very dim backlight
i unplug the main board from the power supply and the back light comes on

so i think problem is in the main board

i checked voltages, with the mainboard connected to the power supply
i checked voltages at various inductors on the main board
i could see different voltages such as 1.3 and five volts. i noted that each voltage fluctuated
each component has voltage at some point but the voltage drops to zero and the comes back

so i think the chips on the main board are no good

i am thinking to reflow them
however, i can buy a used good mainboard for 20 dollars australian

thought i would share my steps taken

I cannot see any damage to any of the boards such as bloated capacitor or poor solder joints
