Re: Top part of screen greyed out
Can you supply a picture of the fault? It is hard to tell what you mean by "greyed out"...Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Top part of screen greyed out
Probably Y-buffer fault. (SU or SD)
Can you see Vscn test point on SC (Y-sustain) board?
Please check the voltage and see what it is measuring. It should measure 120V to 150V wrt to -Vad (usually it is measured across a resistor.)Last edited by tom66; 08-24-2014, 04:44 PM.Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

Re: Top part of screen greyed out
Nice fix! Could you show us exactly what resistor for future reference? Or the component # on the schematic?
Yes, I do like that Panasonic provides full service guides for their plasmas - something for other manufacturers to look at doing. (I wish.)Please do not PM me with questions! Questions via PM will not be answered. Post on the forums instead!

by FreakyMexHello guys. I'm a complete noob in electronics. I'd like to repair my child Lunii's (a "story box"), basically an audio player that allows the childs to choose between several options the places, characters, objects of the story, and then play a story according to the choice of the child. There is a screen that display the selected option before each choice. The Lunii fell and the screen is now broken.
I'd like to repair it (probably just have to change the part, because the lunii still works perfectly fine) but I can't manage to identify the part/order it online. Do you have any...02-17-2025, 01:16 AM -
by ChrissygizmoHello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same... -
by Ryan.manHello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!
My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.
This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen... -
by Raulnngood night! I have this screen that looks half black and half white. the tcon gives a low vgh value (5-6v). the rest seem fine. I first removed the flex from one half of the panel and then the other. Removing the left, vgh increases it to 25-26v. I think the problem is in that area, but there are not many elements on the integrated controller board. there are no shorted capacitors. could they be a cof? Some help?
By the way, now the entire screen is black. Maybe some flex was not connected correctly... I have exchanged the flex and there are no variations, I don't think they are the... -
by dicky96Hi guys, I have an old laptop here I'm just trying to fix for the fun of it really
The top part, maybe 25% or 33% of the screen display works, (DOS boot text or bios screen, I have no HDD fitted) but the bottom part is all white.
On an external monitor connected to the VGA the picture is good.
So basically I have a horizontal division, below which the screen is all white. There is no apparent damage to the screen or any vertical lines
I tried cleaning the pins on the LVDS connector plug/socket as thy looked a bit dirty (18 pins plus... - Loading...
