Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

If you do that it will help us a lot, it is not easy trying to troubleshooting without having the units or the boards in front of us to look at, it is the least you can do for us that are trying to help.
Also look at the pictures you take, if you cannot see the object clearly, we cannot see it clearly either. I have to draw up the diagram based on your pictures when we do not have the service manuals for what we are trying to fix.
I am getting tire of asking for pictures so I skip those posts without pictures.

Here is a link to our FAQ explaining how to upload pictures incase you need it: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1868

Re: Please upload pictures using attachment function when ask for help on the repair

I second and third that !
Cant understand why when people can see what we keep asking for so few
bother to put together a decent request for help.
Perhaps we need to have some minimum requirements on a sticky we can just
post as a link in reply to an inadequate request.
I used to post this but gave up.

    Welcome to the forum-
We can help a lot more if you please post good clear pictures of the whole chassis, and then pictures of each board, front and back (in the same orientation) and close up of connectors, (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) using the manage attachments button, which is found by clicking "go advanced" under quick reply.

Please do not post inline and offsite as they slow down the loading of pages.

    Examples of what is needed

It will be useful if you can say what the supposed fault was and a bit about yourself - skills tools etc.

Hmm, no animated gif for :standing-on-chair-clapping:

Although I no longer participate in certain sub-sections of these forums, sometimes I lurk and despite providing numerous well written easy-to-understand examples, tips, guides, it still amazes me that people asking for free help to solve their problems still can't or won't do the simple basics.

I suggest putting this thread into your signature link as well.

If you are new to this forum, we can help a lot more if you please post clear focused pictures (max resolution 2000x2000 and 2MB) of your boards using the manage attachments button so they are hosted here. Information and picture clarity compositions should look like this post.

We respectfully ask that you make some time and effort to read some of the guides available for basic troubleshooting. After you have read through them, then ask clarification questions or report your findings.

Are you questioning what a sticky is or the idea of using one for this purpose?

I think it's an ok idea to set a sticky post devoted to how to ask for help here. Some people (especially newbies, no offense to newbies, it just takes time to learn how things work here) need it drummed into their heads so another drum probably couldn't hurt.

              Well maybe stickie in US?

Sticky is just a thread that is always available at the top of a forum.

On the tv section there are 4 - you can apply to a mod to have any good
useful to all thread stuck ( pinned - hence the blue tack symbol) to the top of a forum.

On the Monitor thread is retiredcaps' 2 second to black guide.

so it is easy to refer people to it.

@ retiredcaps - my dittie above is mostly copied from yours. I was thinking the 2mb could be increased to 3mb as even cheaper cameras start off there.
and the jpg up;load is now said to be 4mb not that I have tried it.

Help identifying the function of these two coils - MSI Delta 15 (MS-15CK1)
                        by Salvador Pérez
Hello everyone, I'm troubleshooting an MSI Delta 15 (MS-15CK1) motherboard, and I need help identifying the function of the two coils marked in the attached image. The laptop powers on and responds to the keyboard, but the screen does not turn on-neither the LCD nor the backlight. I've checked the main power rails, and all other coils seem to have the expected voltages:

                        • 0.91V for the GPU
                        • 1.7V for VRAM
                        • 3.3V and 5V rails 1.8V for the BIOS
                        • 0.9V for the CPU and iGPU 1.2V for the RAM

However, these two coils are not showing any voltage....

                        by valvashon
The 55" LG has been in the basement for a few months without being used. Turned it on yesterday, set came on as it should and showed a complete screen for about 5 seconds (was on a broadcast channel but no antenna was connected), then the screen went mostly dark with about 1/3 of the screen on the right lighting up with brighter lines in that lit part (sorry, no pictures of that). Power LED was cycling too, preventing the TV from fully powering up.
Pulled the back off, all boards looked OK. Pulled the LED connector, turned the set on to see if it would power up but I don't belive it...

I can't find a forum to discuss "instrumentation Troubleshooting", but PS maybe the closest.
So, I'm having an issue with about 13 year old Agilent Function Generator. it works, passes self-test, but it has an annoying "audible" noise, that changes as I change the output frequency setting of the instrument. Prominent around 600 Hz and up (at least that's what my ears are picking up.) I saw on some forms that it could be fan, linear regulator, dried up caps,... I can't seem to find the source of audible noise. Here is what I tried:
                        1. Turn the output off - still...
